the world now has more billionaires than ever. For the first time, the number of billionaires has crossed the 3,000 threshold, and currently, there are 3,028 billionaires globally — up by 247 compared to last year. Combined, their wealth totals US$$16.1 trillion, an increase of US$2 trillion compared to 2024.

This fucking turns my stomach. 3000 people hoarding wealth at a time when billions are struggling. And the richer they are, the faster they are able to hoard even more wealth.

There's no reason to allow anyone to hoard enough wealth to last 10,000 lifetimes. We need to have caps on personal wealth.

So much money being withheld from the economy because the government feels that like $250K (if that?) is a perfectly cromulent amount to max out the tax brackets at.

Disgusting to think that somebody making $1,000,000,000 is being taxed the same percentage as somebody making $250,000.

Most people will never make $250k/year in their working life.. yet it's also wild how many people are making so, so much more than that.

The divide is crushing

Well it would be fine if that tax bracket was 100%
