Such a great example of the C O N S U M E mindset. Does the TV have the features the person wants? Is it the right size or is taking it home all that matters? Is a deal better than the regular list price for a TV that does what they need?

Hey, I've been on the lookout for a cheap, tiny TV to use as a weather/status board for a long time now.
If you put a six to seven inch tv in front of me that has 1) display 2) HDMI 3) $50, then there's a really good chance I'll buy it right then. After considering if I'm still interested in the project.
What resolution do you need? Last time I checked 720p LCDs were about that price in that size.
I'm "looking" for 6-12 inches. Something I can hang off to the side without being in the way.
I see something pop up occasionally but they usually have more than I want, like batteries, and get more expensive than the project is worth.
What? Are you not interested in the most generic TV with the most basic feature set legally possible, for the measly price of a Ferrari? Heresy!
Ironically, a generic TV with a basic set of features is expensive because it is not "smart" and cannot have streaming tie-ins, pre-installed "apps", or ads.
It is half off the arbitrarily high price at that one particular overpriced store. What a deal!
There's absolutely a kind of person that does that. My ex's father bought three vacuum cleaners because they were on a good sale and he figured someone he knew would need a vacuum eventually.
For an absolutely massive price cut I could see it. If they were selling Henry Hoovers for £1.99 I would probably take 5 of them. Maybe see if I can strap them together for funny projects.

By analysing reviews that might be possible too
I actually suspect they're all handjob stores but I dunno.
Look for places that specifically say massage therapy, and then avoid them because they don’t do handjobs.
But will they do a good job?
I have impulse bought a tv, at the store because it was marked down due to being returned after getting a bonus. I have no idea about just doing it randomly while out.
To be fair, a not insignificant portion of that ad's target audience is probably considering impulse leasing a Volvo and showing off all of its gadgets to their friends.
