Usually I am sympathetic towards people losing their jobs. However, that goes out the window when their government is hostile and I am watching family struggle due to the trade war.

Sure, apropos of nothing but four years of USians bitching across social media on how Russians are all subhuman scum that all deserve to burn right where they are. Then when the US has their own mentally ill pedofascist conman as the president for the second time, it's suddenly “oh well, what can you do”.
Cannot remember ever seeing this expressed.
And it is apropos if nothing. Another commenter elsewhere pointed out that it was weird that you brought it up out of nowhere too. People notice this, cannot wave it away, it's something you do.
Oh sure, years of being constantly on Reddit and part-time on Lemmy totally hasn't brought up any ongoing trends. And ‘another commenter’ is definitely not yourself.
