WASHINGTON, June 10 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump ‌said on Wednesday that he might not renew ⁠the USMCA free trade deal with Canada and Mexico. Speaking at the White House, ‌the ⁠president said he was discussing the ⁠matter with Mexican and Canadian ⁠leaders.

Because he has a pathological need to see his name in the headlines on a daily basis.

Maybe, but I think it's more that his only negotiation tactic is to threaten to do something drastic, like cancelling "the deal" (or military attack), then wait for weakness/capitulation to push for more concessions. Over and over again.

I agree that seems to be his signature move.

And it hasn't occurred to him that anyone (or everyone) might figure it out...
