Bun Alert System

768 readers
33 users here now

A place to alert others/be alerted of bun sightings.

The smoler the bun the better, please see this for an explanation: https://xkcd.com/1682/

RULES:

  1. Be kind to each other. Buns are cute, cuddly, and nice. Be like buns.

  2. Posts should be images of buns doing bun things. Bun things include eating, chilling, playing, hopping, and sleeping. You wouldn't want to be alerted of a capybara doing calculus through the Bun Alert System, would you? For other bun discussion, see some other communities below.

  3. Images should be of living, healthy, happy buns. The Bun Alert System exists to bring smiles to bun enjoyers around the world, not sour frowns.

  4. Keep it suitable for all bun enjoyers. Nothing too freaky or NSFW.

  5. With respect to this community, moderators are the smolest buns. Please shoot us a message if you have questions or concerns!

Hello fellow bun enjoyers!

Some of you may have noticed my comments on certain bun posts commending the poster for achieving the highest buns-per-photo ratio seen so far on our fair Bun Alert System. If you're one of the ones who noticed, good job! If not, that's okay, I still love you.

In this here meta post, I will be keeping track of the current titleholder, as well as maintaining a list of previous holders. The list is right here, right now! (bet you weren't expecting so soon, were you?)

👑 CURRENT TITLEHOLDER: 👑

User: @[email protected]

Post: https://lemmy.sdf.org/post/28153566

Buns-per-photo: 9

PREVIOUS TITLEHOLDERS:

Please give a welcoming round of applause, for our current & previous titleholders!

FREQUENTLY QUESTIONED ANSWERS:

Q: How do you determine the current titleholder?

A: Sort by new, enjoy bun photos, count number of buns in the photos, if new record observed, check older posts for greater than or equal bun count. If none found, update roster!

===

Q: Wait, I posted a bun photo with N buns in it (where N is the current uncontested high score), where's my recognition?

A: As much as your efforts are appreciated, titles are only granted to whomever achieves the record first. Don't give up though, you may find N+1 buns some other time!

===

Q: What do I win if I achieve a high score?

A: Eternal Internet fame (probably)

I was browsing through the Teletext Archive and happened across this bun.

Given the real ones are all hiding I thought maybe it would do.

Bagels are good and all but I miss buns. I have therefore paid the royalties to the buns for 1 year worth of photo availability - let me tell you they are NOT cheap!

I hope the buns make themselves more visible soon!

It's no secret that buns have caught on to our photographic activities and have started making themselves scarce until we pay royalties. For this reason, we will be refocusing our efforts onto bagels!

The bagel pictured is a sesame bagel topped with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, yum!

Excited to see your bagels!

That little dirt patch is a daily spot for a bun. My wife wanted me to give it a carrot. edit: it's back

Funny thing is, our old dogs leave them alone. One sort of half-heartedly chases them for a few steps, the pitbull just looks at them. It's like our dogs have pet rabbits to go along with thier pet chickens

We live a small city of Rovaniemi, slightly over 50 thousand people. Our house is at the suburbs and the forests are near. A bunny in our yard is a common sight

We had a pretty good snowstorm. I noticed this guy out still looking for a late night snack.
