Russian media has fallen for an outrageous April Fools joke involving Prince Andrew.

Also of note is that the Tado integration broke last month, and is fixed in this update. I'm surprised it didn't get a mention.

Neither did I! That's a very misleading username.

Hi everyone, Some quick news from Hyperion Entertainment today. Update 3 for the AmigaOS 3.2 has just been released! The press release from Hyperion Entertainment can be found below: Brussels – Apr…

Right... so Campbell's claim to own them but their site points to "Kettle Brands" which seems to be US based.

According to another post they are owned by Valeo. Their site points to Kettle Foods, which seems to be UK based.

I suspect at some point the US and UK parts of the company have been split up, although it's very confusing that they seem to have the same branding.

I'm pretty sure that eliminating DEI is against EU law, so I'm not sure how they are supposed to conform (and, of course, they shouldn't). Maybe sue the US government for breach of contract and move on.

Scanned some random stuff around the house. I find the EU-centric thing a bit odd:

Norway was still in Europe last time I checked. It shouldn't have a big warning for European companies that aren't EU members. Sure; word it differently if you like, but don't dissuade from supporting European companies just because they aren't EU members.

You missed the last bit:

All the KETTLE Chips you get now are made here in the UK, with British potatoes, but our American name is a nod to the adventurer that brought us here!

So they are at least made in Europe, the last bit suggests the US connection no longer exists.

Somewhat confused.

Kettle Chips are British, made in Norfolk. I double-checked their website and they haven't been taken over by anyone as far as I can tell.

Yes that site is utterly horrid 🙁

5-panel Loading Artist comic. Panel 1: A man stands beside a birthday cake, smiling and saying, “Thanks for coming to my birthday party!” Panel 2: He looks sheepish and adds, “I was beginning to worry nobody would show up…” Panel 3: His point of view shows the cake in the foreground and a cheerful group of “guests” smiling behind it. Panel 4: Same view, but one of the smiling faces begins to float upward—it's a balloon. Panel 5: The man panics and runs after the escaping balloon as it's revealed that all his “guests” are just balloons with drawn-on faces.

Cambridge, UK – 28-Mar-2025 – RISC OS Open Limited (ROOL) is calling on the global technology community to support a bold new initiative to secure the long-term future of RISC OS. The company today announced the launch of its Moonshots programme – a strategic shift away from incremental development, towards large-scale engineering efforts aimed at modernising the operating system for next-generation Arm architectures.

You're probably better off asking that in the original post - should have some hardcore anime fans there who will know the answer!

Bit of a clickbait headline - it's actually a Nissan Micra EV based on the R5.

NISSAN has revealed a next-generation budget EV to rival Renault 5 with 248 miles of charge.

The financially-stricken carmaker has partnered with Renault to create an “audacious” spin-off to the R5 while remaining “true to the DNA of its predecessors”.

WW3 here we come.

This was a great game!

Makes me think of this: https://youtu.be/0vJBBpadaGg

I think one of the other parts is more appropriate but they aren't on YouTube.

The issue is more with embedded systems which have been hard coded to European DST.

Most sane software will use the OS timezone and not care about DST. Most sane embedded systems will have some config for DST. I bet there are lots of cranky unsupported things which are horribly broken though.

The new owner will rebrand the High Street chain as TGJones, but said it would keep the Post Office outlets that operate in many branches.

I think they've missed a trick here. My uncle used to call it Smudgers. Much better name!

This popped up today on my Go European plugin as a European alternative. I'd not heard of it before. The results aren't great, but they do have their own index so it isn't piggybacking off of Bing like most other search engines seem to.

I'm asking this here because it looks like a very weird feddit.uk specific issue.

If I post a URL for cdn.bsky.app to an image, it shows up fine on the default web UI.

On the app I use (Connect) it only ever shows up as a link.

"But!", I hear you cry, "surely that's an app problem?"

You'd think so, and I thought so, but it is only happening on feddit.uk. If I switch to a different account on a different instance, they display as expected. It also doesn't matter which instance they were originally posted to, as I've just seen an image from bsky that I posted on feddit.uk, and that has the same problem.

Any ideas? This has been bugging me for weeks.

This is a bit odd. From my feddit.uk account (this one) I get the above for posts on [email protected].

If I log into the account they were posted with (this is my bot) on lemmings.world they display as expected:

If I log back in as myself on feddit.uk website, the images also display as expected (Connect doesn't seem to want to upload this one, but you'll see it without logging in at feddit.uk/c/[email protected]).

What's different?
