I know it's bad to say but MS office is a real barrier. That and done other compatibility issues with Windows apps made me abandon Ubuntu for Windows after several months where I otherwise loved it.

That generational improvement is not the natural order of the universe. It's the result of individuals putting themselves in harms way to push for change. It's hard-fought legislation moving the cause forward. It's constitutional amendments. It's legal cases won against the odds. It's corporations jumping on the bandwagon not wanting to be seen to oppose respectable society.
But those who have always fought against the process are racking up wins. That generational change you've observed that looked inevitable is under severe threat. You cannot count on it happening by itself.
For every proton post, can we please get a bot that auto posts these, to save everyone the effort:
- proton isn't private / yes it is / they never claimed to be
- wasnt there a case when they shared that activist account / you have the facts wrong, here's what actually happened
- [insert proton app name] for Linux when? / Linux is only x% of user base
- proton needs to finish [insert proton app name] before starting something new / they are different teams so not relevant
- proton needs to make X / no they don't
- people shouldn't put all their eggs in one basket / don't use the service then
Thanks!
Comparing proton with Microsoft like this is a joke.
How else will they continue to exchange illegal images with each other?
As we learned from the reddit app changes, the ending of Netflix account sharing, etc etc the people who will take this action are few enough not to matter. Regretfully.
"BREAKING: Staffed gas stations have been robbed at gun point, scaring drivers into buying EVs so they can charge alone safely instead"
Who wrote this article, Oil and Gas Inc?
Sounds like a hospital where people work incredibly long shifts on call, and it's staffed at all hours.
I mean, we all know even if that's true that HR's gonna ask you to fill out your address again multiple times when onboarding as a new hire.
Were you a user of this app? Why do you say it's not a scam?
They will just take all their oil billions and buy up battery companies at the last moment.
