That’s so interesting that the lore is created by a community, but even moreso that someone can actually author a work based on their contribution! Pretty interesting to see how far apart the first and last entries of the story were published. This is a rabbit hole I think I am ok skipping for now lol

Can’t go wrong with just about any Studio Ghibli film.

Hold up. There’s more SCP content? Is there prerequisite reading that would’ve helped the story make more sense for me?

My guy, I’m sorry for your loss.

I finished There Is No Antimemetics Division by qntm last night. While the science fiction was cool, I had some difficulty because the timelines appeared to be jumping around. I guess it was thematic in the sense that our memories are/were incomplete similar to how a character might experience them in-story. I don’t read a whole lot of cosmic horror stuff, so the grandness of some of the descriptions felt different as though I were watching someone else play Shadow of the Colossus.

I’ve had 1Q84, Book 3 sitting on my desk begging and taunting me to finish it, so I might just get to that once and for all.

I often see drivers pop their cigarette butts out the sun roof, but never considered it’d get enough air to hit a biker.

I guess a good follow-up question might be what other regions aren’t on Apple Maps?

How kind of the government to provide these tools to ordinary citizens.

Floating in the frictionless capsule on Monday, Mr. Hansen thanked Mr. Trump for his country’s leadership on the Artemis II program.

The president named the Canadian hockey giant Wayne Gretzky, a friend, in his compliments to Mr. Hansen.

Decades from now students may listen back on this phone call and wonder what Wayne Gretzky had to do with anything.

If things work out for Gladu and her constituents, it’ll be interesting to see if the rumour that about 10 other Conservative MPs are considering jumping ship comes true. Hard to tell in this economy, though.

Geeze I can hear that game over laugh just looking at Sinistar.

There’s coffee in that [capillary cup].

Starting June 2025, the City will start to manage and adjudicate parking ticket infractions through its Administrative Penalty System (APS), transitioning from the existing Provincial Offensive Act (POA) courts. The City’s new APS program will next extend to red light camera and automated speed enforcement infractions.

Kawartha Dairy, known for its Canadian-made ice cream, is opening its first Ottawa location in the city’s west end this summer.

The 600-square-foot drive-through location at 2200 Carling Ave. is near the intersection of Carling and Fairlawn avenues and across the street from Carlingwood Shopping Centre.

“This summer we’re excited to welcome customers to visit us in-store or through the convenience of our (drive-through) to pick up milk, cones and custom-made milkshakes,” the Crowe family, owners of Kawartha Dairy, said in the email.

Anyone else noticing faster battery drain on iPad or iPhone since the update? An hour and a half of content has chewed through over 50% of my battery on my M1 iPad, not to mention the device getting very hot.

I’m thinking about getting a Retroid Pocket Classic but was wondering whether or not I might be able to use the same SD Card I use for my Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. I was hoping I could resume my saves between devices.

Is this is possible?

EDIT: had originally written RP4P. Updated to Retroid Pocket 4 Pro

“Due to changes in U.S. tariff policies, we will be suspending all orders shipping from China to the United States starting today,” writes Anbernic. “We strongly recommend prioritizing products shipped from our U.S. warehouse, which are currently not affected by import duties and can be purchased with confidence.”

Chris Barber and Tamara Lich have been found not guilty of most charges against them for their roles in the 2022 truck convoy protest in Ottawa.

On Thursday at the Ottawa Courthouse, Ontario Court Justice Heather Perkins-McVey found the pair not guilty of four charges apiece relating to intimidation and obstructing police.

They were both found guilty of counselling others to commit mischief. Perkins-McVey also found them both guilty of committing mischief themselves, but that finding was stayed at the request of Crown lawyers.

Barber alone was found guilty of counselling others to disobey a court order. Lich was not charged with this.

All told, Barber was found guilty of two charges, not guilty of four and had a seventh stayed. Lich was found guilty of one, not guilty of four and had a sixth stayed.

From Discord:

Hello @everyone,

Unfortunately today is the day I have to announce that LunaSea is no longer being published and all related cloud services (including notifications) will be shut down in the near future.

For more information on when things will be shut down, please read the details here: https://www.lunasea.app/

I understand that this comes as a surprise and originally was not the intention for the project. However, with recently enforced changes by the Play Store (and possible other storefronts in the future) to require showcasing your legal personal residential address, I am no longer comfortable publishing mobile applications for privacy reasons.

Luckily for some time I have been able to get around this by utilizing an older ID to showcase an address I no longer reside at. Unfortunately, this no longer works and I am required to re-verify which I am not willing to do.

With this shut down also marks the closure of the Discord and Subreddit. For the time being this Subreddit and Discord will remain open, however all channels have been removed and no new posts allowed in the subreddit.

Once again, thank you to everyone for everything over the years, I couldn't have asked for a better community. ❤️

British animation company Jellyfish Pictures Ltd., which earlier this month paused all operations while “exploring all options for sale and investment,” is shutting down, part of the ongoing turmoil in the global animation and vfx industries.

In a statement earlier this month, the company blamed the “long-tail impact of Covid, coupled with rising costs and the fall-out from the writer and actor strikes” as the reason for its struggles.

The company’s remaining 69 workers are being laid off, with a handful remaining onboard temporarily to help wind down operations.

Upcoming Plex Pass Price Increase

The price increase applies to new and existing subscriptions, with the exception of existing Lifetime Plex Pass holders.

New USD prices as of April 29, 2025 will be:
Monthly: $6.99
Yearly: $69.99
Lifetime: $249.99

If you’d like to lock in a Lifetime Plex Pass subscription at the current rate of $119.99 USD, you have until April 29, 2025 to do so.

Upcoming Change to Remote Playback for Personal Media

We are also changing how remote playback works for streaming personal media (that is, playback when not on the same local network as the server). The reality is that we need more resources to continue putting forth the best personal media experience, and as a result, we will no longer offer remote playback as a free feature.

So Long, Mobile Unlock Fee

Our Android and iOS mobile apps previously required a one-time activation fee or Plex Pass to remove the one-minute playback limitation when streaming content from a Plex Media Server. As part of these changes, there will no longer be any such one-minute playback limitation.

EDIT:

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CURRENT PLEX PASS HOLDERS: For users who have an active Plex Pass subscription, remote playback will continue to be available to you without interruption from any Plex Media Server, after these changes go into effect. When running your own Plex Media Server as a subscriber, other users to whom you have granted access can also stream from the server (whether local or remote), without ANY additional charge—not even a mobile activation fee.
