Lil' Smokies doesn't come out too often. She's usually in her attic lair being antisocial.

I wonder if the water on the top floors helps to act as a counterbalance during earthquakes. Spilling over the sides is effectively dissipating energy.

I would almost accept AI accelerating humanity's downfall if it could get us neutral, non-religious, non-prejudiced doctors & therapists for a while.

Is there a lemmy equivalent for HydroHomies?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

I think you're misreading my reply (or i worded it poorly). I agree with you 100% and do contribute to the instances I use and the content creators I watch.

I meant it as "So what if they ask for help? Do, or don't (donate)"

The initial post came off to me as a dig at the admin for openly asking for money.

So? Do, or don't. Either their service provides people with enough value to donate to keep it running, or it doesn't and goes under.

Altruism doesn't pay the bills; but it doesn't hurt to ask. Can't blame them for that.

Regardless of the vehicle, It's overall safer.

Yeah, they're pretty close to the same truck. I would have loved the diesel option, but we're deathly afraid of small displacement diesels in the US.

Frontiers are awesome little (relatively) work trucks. I don't ever need to haul people so I ripped out the rear seats and installed shelving for anything I need to keep secure and dry. Big enough bed to throw nasty/oily parts. And a good enough towing capacity for most rental equipment like bobcats and lifts. Basically a half van.

I can kill wild pigs. They're only level 1

These aren't. Most animals that you get to hunt in the US will run away if you take a shot and miss. Hogs just might decide to turn around and fucking disembowel you.

Check out Buzzkill. I've used it to do just that.

Phased arrays are neat. It's like a mini LRAD without the L.

Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked recently but I can't find it while searching.

Are there any web based lemmy clients (like alexandrite) out there that allow post filtering by keyword? I'm not as concerned about filtering comments, but that would be nice as well.

And if it has to be an app, any suggestions for a linux desktop?

PC A and B are running Fedora 41, both on the same local network. I used to be able to use KRDC to remote desktop from PC A to B. After letting both PCs update a couple weeks ago, it's no longer working. When I try, I get the username and password prompt. But after entering, I get a "Could not connect to server" error in KRDC. I get the following errors in the terminal:

KRDC: Starting RDP session

Unfortunately I don't know what update broke it. I just hit 'update all' and walked away. Thanks for any help. Also open to suggestions on any better remote desktop programs.

After seeing articles about this I checked my cat's microchip on www.aaha.org no registration info comes back. Savethislife was a major pet registry in the US.

Main heat isn't working until the repair guy hopefully comes tomorrow. Supposed to be in the 20's (F) tonight; hope 3 cats and a (electric) blanket are enough.

spoiler explanation

Edit: Heat is fixed. I'll miss you cats.

Runner Bun (files.catbox.moe)

Looks like he's getting lined up on a bun sized starting gate.

Moving soon, gonna miss you buns. While I'm pretty sure I could catch them all. I don't think moving in then releasing a bunch of wild rabbits into the neighborhood is a good way to say hello.

I can't read instructions and ended up with an extra from eneba. I'm too lazy for the refund process; But I will trade it for a photo of your pet, or the neighbors pet, or a bird that hangs out in your yard, favorite garden spider, etc. As long as you are willing to sign an affidavit stating you have given this animal pets or made friendly noises in it's direction. First message meeting this criteria gets it. Only have one, Sorry.

Stipulation: Must have posted/commented to any SDF community before this post was created.

He never sleeps. He never stops.

I probably should mow my lawn.
