They're phasing it out, manifest v2. Blue green testing, at some point you will be forced out as well.

Spot on. We all have our own demons. It's up to us to overcome them and make a life for ourselves. Life is not fair, some get it better, so e have it worse, but it's for each of us to conquer ourselves

Life is learning that no one looks out for you, no one is going to swoop in and make it easy. Nobody wants to go to work, but we all do anyway. I'd love to take a year off, but then I'd probably go homeless, so I don't. I can wish it all I want, but it isn't going to happen.

So, I could be resentful that others may have it easier, or I can enjoy my days off how I want and put in my time as I go. C'est la vie.

Yeah strong disagree with this meme. 15 years into my career and everything gets a data type.

The only engineers I know who still don't like strong types are engineers who haven't lost a weekend due to a stupid type issue. Once you have one or a few of those, you start to like types again.

I am the exact same way. Good on you for acknowledging it and recognizing it. I love romcoms, Jane Austen movies are some of my favorites, and ffs I literally made and mod the Taylor Swift community here. I'm very straight, but also in touch with my own emotions. All of masculinity says that I would never find a woman and that I'm doing everything wrong.

Except I've been married and ina committed relationship for well over a decade now. My wife loves that I'm open with who I am. (I took her to the Eras tour!).

Toxic males are sexist in many ways, but one is that they think of women as single thinking people. That women want hot guys with fast cars, and that you'll never get one without. That's like saying that all men like playing dnd, or all men want to drive a big truck. It's asinine. There are over 4 billion women on this planet, and a good many of them do not care what kind of truck you have. In fact, most of them would think you wasted your money on it.

Fully agree. It's just not sanitary either, and I know everyone will assume I mean their dog is dirty. I mean that any animal brings unknown elements into a place that makes food. One good shake of a wet dog and you have dirt and debris flying around people eating, and you're exactly right things like that may affect others way more even if it doesn't affect you.

I'm okay with dogs in places like breweries, it's still a risk but as long as there is plenty of space it's probably fine. Food though adds a whole other element that I don't think they belong in.

Bigots definitely didn't help, but I know far more people who didn't go simply because "why would I want to see that?" Vs bigots

Data science. CS is going to be programming and learning about things like registers and ram allocation. Data science sounds more like what you're describing

See! You're not THAT poor. Just give it another few decades!

Engines are being warmed up on “One,” the drama series set in the world of Formula One racing that Felicity Jones is attached to both star in and executive produce.

Variety understands that the series is in development with Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video, although it has not been officially ordered yet.

“One” — which marks Formula 1‘s first officially sanctioned scripted series — will focus on a failing family-owned racing team, led by Jones’ character, as it contends with fierce personalities, ever-changing rivals and multi-million-dollar stakes.

The series is produced by Bedrock Entertainment, launched in 2020 as a joint venture between “Band of Brothers” producer Tony To, “True Detective” executive producer Dan Sackheim and ITV Studios America. Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby — who were Oscar nominated for “Children of Men” — will write and executive produce.

To will executive produce “One” for Bedrock, alongside Sackheim and ITV Studios America’s president and managing director Philippe Maigret.

Jones will also produce alongside her brother Alexander Jones for their Piecrust Pictures banner, which recently boarded graphic novel adaptation “100 Nights of Hero,” starring Nicholas Galitzine, Charli XCX and Richard E. Grant.

News of Amazon MGM developing “One” comes amid a busy period for Jones, who recently landed a Golden Globes nomination for “The Brutalist” and has several projects coming up, including the feature films “Night Train” and “Oh. What. Fun.”

No YOU have a problem! (poptalk.scrubbles.tech)

One of those things I wish every once in a while, to meet the actor/actress I most enjoy and just ask them questions about their roles and what they were thinking.

Of course the worry is that they are completely opposite in real life and it would ruin the illusion, so a catch-22. I both want to know more about them, but also I don't want to know anything.

To kick us off, some here know my favorite actress is Felicity Jones, and I would absolutely love to meet her and know more about how she chooses a role, she is very selective now. She is also very secretive about her process and how she gets into character, yet she is one of the best biographical actresses in my opinion after Jane Hawking and RBG.

A fun one I think would be Woody Harrelson, talking to him from Cheers up to Hunger Games and more, he seems fun to have a beer, but he also seems like a prime "actually an asshole" candidate.

Current best video models? (poptalk.scrubbles.tech)
submitted 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Has anyone been using any great video models? I've used SVD and it's been... fine, but I see some really great videos online and don't know how they're generated. I'm thinking mostly Img2Txt style, in ComfyUI so I can generate an image and then animate it. (My perfect case would be something like multimodal, where I give it an image and a prompt, and a video would be spit out)

Expanding Synology (poptalk.scrubbles.tech)

Hey folks, happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating today!

I have a Synology DS1821+ that I have completely filled. I'm looking for expanding, but I don't really want to completely replace the Synology yet.

Does anyone know if there is a way to expand the number of drives? I've heard murmers that I can use a DAS, but nothing for sure. Wondering if anyone has attempted this before. Thanks!
