I'm glad they're calling out Microsoft's bullshit with contractors. Most people don't know a massive chunk, I think even a majority of Microsoft employees are "v-", contractors. They pay them less, they get no benefits, no PTO, no health insurance, and then after 18 months they're out. Contractors usually rotate around between the big firms but Microsoft is notoriously bad.

I say good on them for calling it out. Microsoft just wants cheap labor with no benefits. Fuck that, give contractors benefits, or stop using contractors and just hire them

They're phasing it out, manifest v2. Blue green testing, at some point you will be forced out as well.

He's the assman!

A simple reminder today, if you're trying Experimental (and maybe even if not because why not), to go in and BACKUP YOUR SAVES. Especially if you're new to experimental, this is real beta testing, saves do get corrupted and you cannot go back once your save is upgraded

Spot on. We all have our own demons. It's up to us to overcome them and make a life for ourselves. Life is not fair, some get it better, so e have it worse, but it's for each of us to conquer ourselves

Life is learning that no one looks out for you, no one is going to swoop in and make it easy. Nobody wants to go to work, but we all do anyway. I'd love to take a year off, but then I'd probably go homeless, so I don't. I can wish it all I want, but it isn't going to happen.

So, I could be resentful that others may have it easier, or I can enjoy my days off how I want and put in my time as I go. C'est la vie.

Yeah strong disagree with this meme. 15 years into my career and everything gets a data type.

The only engineers I know who still don't like strong types are engineers who haven't lost a weekend due to a stupid type issue. Once you have one or a few of those, you start to like types again.

I am the exact same way. Good on you for acknowledging it and recognizing it. I love romcoms, Jane Austen movies are some of my favorites, and ffs I literally made and mod the Taylor Swift community here. I'm very straight, but also in touch with my own emotions. All of masculinity says that I would never find a woman and that I'm doing everything wrong.

Except I've been married and ina committed relationship for well over a decade now. My wife loves that I'm open with who I am. (I took her to the Eras tour!).

Toxic males are sexist in many ways, but one is that they think of women as single thinking people. That women want hot guys with fast cars, and that you'll never get one without. That's like saying that all men like playing dnd, or all men want to drive a big truck. It's asinine. There are over 4 billion women on this planet, and a good many of them do not care what kind of truck you have. In fact, most of them would think you wasted your money on it.

Fully agree. It's just not sanitary either, and I know everyone will assume I mean their dog is dirty. I mean that any animal brings unknown elements into a place that makes food. One good shake of a wet dog and you have dirt and debris flying around people eating, and you're exactly right things like that may affect others way more even if it doesn't affect you.

I'm okay with dogs in places like breweries, it's still a risk but as long as there is plenty of space it's probably fine. Food though adds a whole other element that I don't think they belong in.

Bigots definitely didn't help, but I know far more people who didn't go simply because "why would I want to see that?" Vs bigots

Instantly on the watchlist for me. Christen Milioti immediately up levels any production she's in

Holy shit, talk about everything people hate about Americans wrapped into a single person. Zero empathy for other people around her, so selfish that she twists herself into thinking she's right, and worse tries to gaslight the reader into thinking they're wrong for ever thinking about other people or respect.

It reminds me of the first time I was in DC. I visited the WW2 memorial and it was one of the first times it hit me, I had multiple family members in the war, and I was walking around to the states. Serene. Peaceful, reflecting. Then a family came by and two kids got in the pool. And worse the family laughed and started taking pictures. One of the most disrespectful things I've ever seen, just spitting in the face of the people who had died.

How many things can you see that are coming? I've counted quite a few new things!

1.1 SpoilerHypertube splitters!

Title essentially. Youtube's algorithm is hot garbage, so I can't search for anything anymore without a ton of AI slop and rage bait. So, who do you go to for actual good long form videos? Exposes, scandals, behind the scenes, documentaries, film, travel, transit, who do you recommend I follow?
