The dimensions are... creative

Kazakhstan plans to supply 50,000 metric tons of crude to China directly from the vast Kashagan field in December for the first time after a Ukrainian drone damaged the Black Sea terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), two sources told Reuters.

Kashagan usually exports most of its oil via CPC to the terminal at the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk for further transportation.

"The incident at CPC's marine terminal did not lead to a complete halt in exports... The ministry, together with producers, is working to redistribute volumes and intensify the use of alternative routes," it said in a written response.

Different sources report different planned destinations. According to VesselFinder the tanker had its AIS transponder switched off for 17 days.

I've gone through a similar experience with two instances. Eventually they both approved. It just took them ages. Of course I needed only one.

I feel you. If that helps, Europe is also full of Putin's puppets with power. For a long time he used to be the highest bidder with his untapped oil.

Sounds so relevant to what's happening in the USA. Sorry for the off topic.

There's UFoI, but to my understanding that's only helpful in cases of litigations related to federation.

I'd like to point out that in !techtakes@awful.systems they have a rule saying:

This is not debate club. Unless it’s amusing debate.

which they use to wolfpack onto anyone who even remotely questions their tribal consensus, even if that person is coming from sharing a post that is well aligned with them.

Lemmy is wild indeed.

I hope one day the Lemmy developers arrive at the idea that a person could be a community, somewhat like the way Mastodon treats communities as users. It's a confusing generalisation, but it works.

Ah, I see, so you are talking about this.

Of course it is nice if things get auto-generated, but doing it yourself, both in code and documentation should never be excluded as an option.

Hopefully this is just the start of a new way to handling these situations. A number of other NATO countries in the area from Finland to Bulgaria could do the same.

This policy is shared by other EU countries like Romania and Bulgaria. With it they effectively refuse to support Ukrainian air defence, which is under extreme pressure.

Remember that Turkey struck down a Russian jet that flew in from Syria? This is what it takes.

MediaZona reported about 2 weeks ago that a huge trial into fake wounds going on. It's hard to know whether it is the wounds or the trial that is fake. In any case at its centre are some of Russia's "elite" forces, also known from Bucha. Also, despite military men always being at the bottom of the political ladder in Russia, this trial is quite devastating for the army morale.

Around Germany and Greece there were other countries. They went by names like frugal four and PIIGS. They forced "austerity" and stricter working hours onto indebted countries to save their own banks.

The colours on this map show well that northern "productivity" is not about working hours, but about other topics that did not get addressed. Among these topics are also tax heavens (think the Netherlands) and money laundering (think Austria's special relationship with Russia).

So it was nothing more than poor political leadership without vision.

In the last three months, the pace of the Russian army's offensive in Ukraine has been falling. In February 2025, the Russian army managed to occupy 192 square kilometres of Ukrainian territory. This is 4 times less than in the peak period in autumn 2024.

The OSINT project DeepState, which monitors the situation on the front line, has drawn attention to the occupiers' loss of momentum.

According to OSINTers, the current pace of the Russian army has already equalled that of July 2024. At the same time, the Russians are taking very heavy casualties as they try to advance.

If your area is not contaminated, I guess it's worth a shout.

...and it looks awful

Two weeks ago he claimed that the spill is "smaller than what they thought"
