Different sources report different planned destinations. According to VesselFinder the tanker had its AIS transponder switched off for 17 days.

“Its transponder was off for so long we thought it was derelict and decided to use it for target practice. I mean, no valid, manned ship would have it purposely turned off for over two weeks, right?”
