Cambridge, UK – 28-Mar-2025 – RISC OS Open Limited (ROOL) is calling on the global technology community to support a bold new initiative to secure the long-term future of RISC OS. The company today announced the launch of its Moonshots programme – a strategic shift away from incremental development, towards large-scale engineering efforts aimed at modernising the operating system for next-generation Arm architectures.

Many fond memories of using RISC OS as a kid. It's good to know that it's still alive!

As an American I've never really used it. I've played with it. But I find it extremely quirky and fascinating and I'm glad to see that it's still existing and being developed. I'd love to see a more modernized version available especially for things like the upcoming risk 5 architecture. It would be very fitting all things considered
