It's says he recently started sleeping at the park, not recently became homeless. It could have happened to him at any point in his life, based on this story.

My friend's dad fell off a ladder and nearly broke his back when we was in his close to 60, if not older. He luckily had family and was about to retire anyway, but imagine if he were a single construction worker in his 60s with no 401k.

back during covid

Few people mean this literally. We all know covid is still around and will be quite possibly forever. What it means, depending on context is "during covid lockdowns" or "during covid restrictions" or really just 2020.

It's not a pandemic anymore, it's endemic now. Get both your shots every year now. Covid isn't the new flu, it's flu's new buddy.

In California (see the plates on the car) there is almost nowhere you can get a sunrise over the ocean without seeing land on the other side across the bay or whatever. There are a couple spots where if the sun was as far south as it gets in winter then you might be able to get a shot with no land across the water. But this is almost surely not one of those.

It seems like they're planning to have it effective for 1-2 years and it takes about 30 days to become effective. That's not great if you need an annual injection of this stuff or if you don't know exactly when it stops being effective.

I think it would need to be more in line with IUD timeliness, which I think range from 5-10 years depending on the type.

The failing was decades and centuries ago that led to this. Power has been consolidating in the presidency since the constitution was signed as the legislature and courts are happy to give more and more of their power over to the executive.

We've only been protected by being lucky having presidents and their staff with genuine care for the intent of the constitution.

This was only a matter of time. It wasn't our fault. This is America.

Casualties is not the same as dead. A lot of those guys will be injured too badly to fight but not dead.

The man wants to make deals, right, so make a deal. (warning I'm an American and know just enough about Canadian government to be dangerous)

"Join" the United States of America under these conditions:

  • Mexico can join too if they want
  • Each Province or State of joining countries becomes a State
  • The Constitutions of all countries apply only to the States it previously applied to while a new Constitution is written
  • The rules of the Constitutional Convention must be agreed to by both a majority of the joining States and 2/3 of all States

Please make this deal. Our governments are all too old to work great in this age but maybe we can forge a new design fit for the 2000s if we erase most of it and start fresh.

Recently I started noticing that a lot of posts will mark as read for a second then go back to unread when viewing just the image or article. It's not all posts though and I haven't determined a pattern yet, but opening the comments seems to mark as read on refresh even though the post looks unread before refreshing.

I'm on version 122 of Sync on Android.
