Die S3/S5 bzw. die Elbquerung ist wirklich noch weit entfernt von verlässlich. Gefühlt ist jede Woche irgendwas. Und oft sind die alternativen Buslinien dann auch direkt überlastet, oder stellen wegen zu hohem Verkehrsaufkommen auf den Elbbrücken den Verkehr ein..

I've been using GNOME for years and have never heard of it.
This does seem like you had some kind of history of interaction with them, so you wouldn't just be anyone to them.
If you aren't just any random person offering them to talk, you must have known that your personal relationship is loaded with a preexisting emotional sentiment.
I would assume that you already knew exactly how they would respond and only made your offer intending to post the response here.

I also only recently learned of this, but with a bow tie, both of its knots have a handedness and you need to use a different handedness for each knot or they will keep coming undone.
