This is why we Jews know not to manufacture life

Whenever I think of the Dylan Roof incident.

The death penalty isn't a punishment, who really learns from it, the criminal? It's a tool for society to remove what amounts to a defective person (not human, person). People are supposed to value the lives of other people by default. Any sustained deviation from this norm is a symptom of a person who cannot value life.

Dylan Roof was given 1000s of opportunities to demonstrate that he did actually value life but because of his defective nature there was no choose but to remove him.

"Life in prison" can be canceled/pardoned/changed, death cannot. That is why it's near impossible to make it happen and even if it does,, people spend the rest of their lives waiting for their "execution" (ftr Dylan is still alive at this time source).

Now in what possible world would you be able to convince a jury of random peers, or judges with their heads actually screwed on tight, that a sample size of one murder proves that a person is defective.

Genuine responses only:

What do they mean "help"? Does this mean that they're going to have to suffer with the consequences of paying devs?

Maybe a bit of an edge case but I use a wallet case and I still carry a credit card. Wireless chargers have cooked my credit card a few times.. and nfc Google pay doesn't always work.

So you're right... To an extent... I usually say I'm making a new button when I'm figuring out an alias.

I guess a better way to express my point is that I'm not geared for interpreting graphics to tell what a button is supposed to do, nor am I cool with needing to press the same buttons in order multiple times.

On the CLI, all the buttons are named with (impo) meaningful names, and I can combine them into new just-as-accessable buttons whenever I want for free! It might align more with my working frustrations, I hate dragging my eyes over the same text/iconography every time I wanna do something, I want it to just 'happen'. I need a user interface that can react to me faster than I can think and to achieve that I just limit my UI to exactly what I want and I keep it easy for me to expand as I need it.

Imo I don't memorize commands. Everything on my zsh is so aliased that I don't think I can teach someone else how to use any other cli.

It just turned into me telling the machine what I want it to do and let it figure out how to rather than me do every little button click step.

DS9 Pale Moonlight: is my second favorite startrek episode. This is like the deepest exploration into a starfleet captain and how easy it is to lose yourself to corruption and operate outside of your government even when you're working towards the same goal.

VOY The Thaw: an unironic cathartic watch. I'm ready invested in the characters and I get to see A1 star trek grade acting actually brings me back to that episode.

If I have to put a thread object in a variable and call a method on it to start it then it's OO multi threading. I don't want to know when the thread spawns, I don't want to know what code it's running, and I don't want to know when it's done. I just want shit to happen at the same time (90% of the time)

I know he used to have that TV show I never watched but Pam mentioned it on the office.

I remember seeing him in home alone but I was a small kid, I didn't get who he was.

Hell I even remember liking Elon Musk the celeb for abit.

So why was Trump ever cool or popular or famous?

Basically just like the rescue ranger but instead you shoot it at enemies and it swaps your position for the enemies and the enemies for you.

The meta would basically be to play close support, pick lone enemies and teleport them to your friends or sentry. Or you could jump off a cliff and swap places with an enemy.

I could imagine this being funny on high tower or maybe harvest.

Edit: thought of a name

The link is to a YouTube video I just uploaded showing my printer clicking.

I don't know what more to say about it to be honest. The clicking kind of sounds like the drive wheel skipping against the stepper motors sprocket. But when I investigated I found both the sprocket and the plastic gear in perfect condition.

It also did the dynamic flow and vibration calibrations before it started this print.

It's kind of annoying having to sit behind my head clicking for 6 hours, I'm wondering if this is something that I can fix.

Edit: changed Tiktok to YouTube

A few months ago I posted him sleeping on the floor concerned bc I thought he was sad...

I guess he kinda was bc he's gotten better.

He doesn't spend all day with me but he enjoys the house and comes around whenever he feels like it.

It's been like this for a few days lol

He won't sit on a couch next to me or by himself. He might hang out with me on my bed but 80% of the time he's on the floor.

Is he hot?

Is he sad?

Can I do something to help him?

He's 2 btw

Update: it was just anxiety, he's new in my house, not sure what his rules are.. he feels much more comfy now ♥️

I mean on a technical level. Are the devices that make up the infrastructure of the internet hardwired with IPv4? Is the firmware on these devices impossible to upgrade remotely?

If it's just a matter of software or firmware then adoption should only take like a year but clearly that isn't the case. So what specifically is stopping us?

I saw this tiktok where this guy was talking about how he'd get his hands on real social security numbers.. this was a clip from a whole story he told about some criminal shit, I was too distracted by my thoughts on how to fix the exploits he used.

Block chains and cryptographic signatures would solve basically every one of his exploits. But regardless of the myriad of reasons as to why we won't adopt cryptography into American laws and bureaucracy, imagine if we did do everything involving government and policy in a cryptographically secure environment.

Imagine if everyone who is born gets assigned a gpg secret key signed by the government and that is your government ID for everything from opening a bank account to paying your taxes to claiming benefits. IMPO I think this is a perfect solution (iif you ignore the human element).

So my question is why wouldn't it be perfect, and what kind of exploits could bad actors use in a cryptographic bureaucracy?

I was so confident that WhatsApp was backing itself up to Google ever since I got my new pixel but I just wasn't. Then yesterday I factory reset my phone to fix something else and I lost it all. Years worth of chats from so many times in my past just aren't there, all my texts with my mom and my family, group chats with old friends... I can't even look at the app anymore, I'll never use Whatsapp as much as I used to. I just don't feel right with this change. There's no way to get those chats back and now it doesn't feel like there's any point backing up WhatsApp now! I really wanna cry like this is so unfair!! And all I had to do was check Whatsapp before I did a factory reset.. the TINIEST THING I could have done and prevented this and I didn't fucking do it!!!!!!!

How do I get past this?

I've watched all the YouTube videos and tiktoks about the spice and the guild navigators.. basically they're what exists instead of decision making computers.

But what do they actually do to operate the ship? Like they looked and saw some shit and now they have to do something about it.

Does the navigator have buttons and levers to configure the drive? Do they just speak words to some sort of helmsman about how to steer? Do they write out instructions? Is there some sort of telepathy or telekinesis the navigator does with the hardware?

Whenever I Google it I just find articles and videos about spice. What about SOP?
