Germany seems pretty pro-Israel

so you never wind up going to the site

Doesn’t the final booking have to be made on the actual source site? That’s always been the case when I used it (agreed that it’s not always right, sometimes the final price/availability is different but hasn’t happened often to me)

They do; just not optimized for that task

I’m surprised to hear that. If someone can pay insurance, parking, fuel, road tax, maintenance, EU checks for a car surely they can pay for a (potentially subsidized) re-certification once in 10 years?

For the last few years, Mullenweg has waged a divisive legal battle with WP Engine, sparing publicly with opponents and peers on social media and in his personal blog. In 2024, he made an “Alignment Offer,” giving Automattic employees who disagreed with his stances the option to take six months of pay or $30,000, whichever was higher, with the stipulation that they would lose access to their work logins that same evening and would not be eligible for rehire.

One hundred and fifty-nine people took the offer and left. He then made another buyout offer, and threatened employees who spoke to the press with termination, saying, “exit gracefully, or be fired tomorrow with no severance.”

Most recently, Automattic attempted to claim it owns the word “automatic.”

Where is this? In Germany at least consent has to come from all parties

Can they record you without consent where you live?

Even if they are air conditioned it’s quite likely that the air conditioning does not run 24/7

Sadly their profits increased overall after they cracked down on password sharing https://www.bbc.com/news/business-68850766

Does anyone know of any t-shirts/sweatshirts with a style similar to these that are sustainable and made in Europe? https://www.instagram.com/atthemomentusa/

Sorry if this is a noob question. I have some 5-liter plastic bottles of drinking water. I normally just drink from the tap so I haven’t used any of that in about a year.

I know they’re probably still good to go for quite a while but I’m wondering - what do you all typically do? Do you use and replace the water so the stored one doesn’t taste stale?

Also, are there any good alternatives to storing drinking water in plastic? I’m trying to reduce my usage of plastic containers for long term food and liquid storage.

The hex nuts on the wheel axles of my bicycle are too big for a 5mm Allen key and too small for a 6mm one. What’s the name/size/something of one that would fit? I’ve been googling but to no avail. I know it exists because the shop I got it from had one (but they didn’t know what it was called either or where to buy one from).

Got an old bike that has this piece in between the crankset and the frame. It’s very loose and keeps rolling around and getting in the way of the chain when I pedal. How can I remove it or make it stay fixed in one place?

Ah, to live in those times!

I’m thinking of making something similar to these stackable shelves. But I want to do it using hand tools only so it seems plywood is out of the question (searching online said it would damage my Japanese hand saw). So I’m looking at solid wood instead and getting pine hobby boards that I won’t have to plane seems to be the easiest and cheapest alternative. The shelves will mostly hold records and books and the largest will probably be 30x30x75cm but stacked on other shelves. Am I in for a bad time?

I’m planning to make some floating shelves 150 cm wide and 30 cm deep.

I want to mount them on a wall that has a plasterboard of thickness 13mm behind which is a plywood backing of 15mm according to the details provided by the contractor (see the attached image). This construction was apparently intended for hanging TVs and they recommend using wood screws that are not longer than 30mm.

One of the shelves will have my record collection which could weigh between 25-50kg. What are some options for hardware I can use to mount the floating shelves?
