THANK YOU for actually being someone in this community proactively wanting to mobilise others against AI instead of merely complaining about it! I really hope more anti AI communities will start to shift toward this type of discussion.

Anyways, something I do to fight gen AI is at my school, I keep a constant pressure against any AI generated content whenever possible. For example, when the school puts up AI generated posters seeking middle school camp counselors, I attach aggressive messages such as “cut the slop” and the “we need to kill ai artist” meme and immediately put more on if any are removed in order to keep up the pressure. Eventually the posters are removed entirely. (The posters are still readable and retain their original utility, but instead of making the school walls uglier, they constantly serve as a warning.)

The pot has holes in the bottom such that it was possible for soil to trickle out. Should I wait a while without watering and see if it gets better?

No, this is my first pineapple that took root well in soil.

I live in the PNW near Seattle, but because it is summertime, nighttime temperatures are consistently above 10 degrees celsius and daytime temperatures are around 27.

It started looking like this several months ago when it prepared to flower and it was still indoors for the winter. I put it outside and the condition kept deteriorating. The fruit also seems to not be getting any bigger.

About nine months ago when I planted it I filled the pot with potting soil and about two months ago my mum covered it with sand to keep water in or something. She raises a lot of houseplants so I assumed she was experienced on this matter.

I water it about every three days with about 250 ml water and a few drops of MiracleGro (it also occasionally rains). I read that to help iron deficiencies people put rusty nails into the soil so I stuck some old screws into the soil.

Is it the sand? I have a sneaking suspicion it is the sand.

Well the modern usage of “bisexual” regarding sexual orientation has also found its way into science, evidenced by the lack of prominent scientific synonyms

Which again is irritating because scientific terminology shouldn’t be this lax

I think “bisexual” only references two sexes because it was created to describe a phenomenon related to sexual reproduction which evolved to occur between two main sexes; the term was unrelated to gender

I currently know how the circle of fifths works and how different modes work.

Most YT content regarding music theory seems to either cover only the really basic stuff or focus on applications of music theory like special cool chord progressions instead of explaining how stuff like harmony actually works. Can yall guide me toward some easily accessible content that will help me learn on a conceptual level what is next, after keys and modes?

It could also be applied to animals meaning something that nowadays would be described as “intersex”.

I just think this meaning makes much more sense than “being attracted to two (later multiple) sexes”. If about sexuality and not sex, “bisexual” should just mean “with sexuality related to the number two” based on the etymology.

Now that I think about it I think I just threw the term “plastic” in because I thought it would give a rough area of inquiry because I read that “plastics” were base resistant.

Actually scratch that; what I was ultimately trying to find out was some examples of base resistant biological building materials, not necessarily plastics.

Apologies for being confused about terminology; I just finished my first year of chemistry

Im doing a bit of worldbuilding involving some molluscs in an alkaline lake. ~~I read that plastics are resistant to base corrosion and later that some plastics such as polyethylene can be produced using organic materials such as ethanol from fermentation. I was thinking that these molluscs could ferment consumed plants and produce polyethylene in their bodies to create a base-resistant shell that would help them survive.~~ (old content) Along with some other adaptations, I am wondering if they could viably develop shells made of a material resistant to base corrosion and would like some real life examples.

I think my classmates think it’s efficient partly because many of them ask it about stuff they didn’t pay attention to because they were yapping amongst themselves during class so they can’t even tell when the AI is pulling a fast one, they just get a nebulous and possibly correct understanding of the material which is better than nothing

I suppose a better question is how to remove AI as a lifeline for lazyboneses or take away its appeal but the former would involve dealing with authorities and I have little support on this in my school 😭

My high school is known for being sweaty because it has IB but also people use AI all the time here, to the extent that “chatgpt” is used as a verb. Unfortunately my classmates just want to get through their work as easily and possible and grab the diploma.

I tried to convince several people to not use AI or at LEAST use a different one from chatgpt, but I generally only got good results from people who were not taking very difficult classes. The more popular lot of Advanced Learning people even brushed me off as a “larper” when I tried talking to them about this.

How should I get more people to be willing to see chatgpt as something besides the easy way?

I think it depends on the extent to which an individual influences the end result. If the paper roll is pre made and the individual is merely placing it in its intended place, then that is different from carefully arranging notes and effects in a DAW.
