FYI a bunch of your image posts like this one are being redirected through lemmy.ml, so some clients aren't expanding the images. Not sure if that's because these are cross-posts from [email protected] and not sure why they're adding the redirect, but it seems really weird. For example, the URL of this image is

It's kinda crazy to me that Nintendo would repeat the same marketing mistakes as the Wii U and release a new console with all this confusion of what games will work with which version.

So this is why they're all in Airplane mode when they're brand new? TIL

I haven't really been keeping up with this, seen a lot of conflicting info. Can you buy the cart for Metroid Prime 4 for Switch 2 and use it in the original Switch? Or can you only buy the Switch version and then if used in the Switch 2, get the upscaling benefits, but not any extra content?

On browser side implementations or extensions, they can see the input into the form field. As for plain text, generally sites will send the plaintext password over HTTPS when logging in, and it's the server side which hashes/salts, and compares to the value in the DB. Sites can reject or inform users to bad passwords this way, generally when changing the password. Cloudflare does offer a product to do this for sites to add warnings to the user if the credentials were found in a breach. More information on that here: https://blog.cloudflare.com/privacy-preserving-compromised-credential-checking/

In your inbox, on the top right of each message should show a gray checkmark. Clicking it will turn it green and mark the message as read. If you show all messages (from the three dot menu), you can mark individual messages as unread and then test it out to see how it works marking ones off one by one.

Unfortunately I don't know how to have the message automatically marked as read if you click on it, and get to the threaded conversation, seems you have to mark as read from the inbox.

White revealed one of the most “disappointing” parts of the finale that he had to cut out. It’s a scene where Piper loses her virginity to none other than Belinda’s son, Zion.

Did these two characters even meet before the finale? Glad that was cut because it would have felt super rushed and not make a whole lot of sense.

You can even get every achievement in a game, and return it for a full refund, granted you can beat the game in under two hours. Someone did it with resident evil 3 remake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bp8a5EjAcGs

I've recently switched to Thunder from Sync, but am surprised that there's not an option to resize tall images to the display size. When opening an image in full screen, it does this, but not in the feed or when opening a post. Basically this would be an option in between card view and full height imagea, for images which are taller than the display window.

This is an egregious example, but this post takes up so much of the feed when full height images is set. Also, I'm not sure about most instances, but they seem to resize the thumbnail aggressively on tall posts, so even if full height images without resizing is your preference, the quality looks terrible anyway, and you're forced to click into the post to see the full size image.

Anyway, maybe I'm missing some settings, but this behavior seems like something someone else would have wanted, but I don't see it as a setting.

Today, Celine Dion's management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing "My Heart Will Go On" at a Donald Trump /JD Vance campaign rally in Montana. In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. ..And really, THAT song?

I didn't realize this was the season finale before watching and was mostly confused that was it after tonight's episode. Seems like they started more loose ends in that one episode, maybe in hope of another season, but it felt like it could have used an episode or two more to set that up better. Spoilers below:

The Acolyte - Episode 8 Season Finale Discussion Spoilers

  • I kept expecting the Green Jedi woman to ultimately be behind the destruction of the witches fortress. It still doesn't make sense that the stone structure could sustain so much damage from some paper burning. Maybe bad editing or something in the previous episodes, but seems like there's still a side of a story being withheld.
  • Reveal of Yoda (or yaddle before growing hair!) and who I assume is Plagueis was underwhelming. Either could have been omitted without issue. If they were going for fan service, focus on one. If it is Plagueis, does the timeline even make sense??
  • Honestly, I wish there were more episodes with the Lesbian Witch Cult which weren't all flashbacks. That conflict with the Jedi was interesting (for the two days it happened in universe) and could have explored more of that side of the force before it was killed off. I guess I'm in the minority based on the backlash that received.
  • Kung fu and lightsaber battles were pretty good. Is this the first time in live action a jedi has turned off a lightsaber mid fight? I think out of everything, the choreography was the strongest aspect of the series.

What'd everyone else think?
