Some budget gaming laptops from MSI are shipping with just 8 GB of RAM and an anti-tamper sticker to dissuade end-users from upgrading the memory themselves.
This is just petty.

As long as it isn't soldered RAM - wtf Mac? - that would not dissuade me. I still wouldn't buy one though.
we picked up a 8gb laptop last fall. soldered ram. knew it going-in. but it's for home use.. and it was only $230 (us) for a ryzen 17in laptop.
MSI makes some of the worse laptops tbh.
My laptop from four years ago has eight, and it can just barely, barely manage BG3 at the lowest, most potato settings.
Then again my eight year old iMac has 32 and it takes twice as long to render video...Tried putting Mint on the thing but couldn't get it working right, boot took five minutes every time. Really weird.
Have you made it to act 3? It was murder on my old rig.
Finished about 1.4 play-throughs, yeah. I wanted to do the Durge redemption arc my second go-round, but I fell off it a while back. The rogue-monk brawler combo kind of trivialised it for me so I couldn't keep interested.
Monk is really strong with haste and that one elixir that gives you an action when you kill something.
Yeah, Install Windows 11 on that thing and the only thing you can run is probably Notepad 😂😂
