In my experience, it's either total incompetence of the people in charge, or it's malicious in order to "catch" people doing something bad.

Like a bait car, but way more malicious since the person getting in the metaphorical car doesn't even know it's not their car because the keys worked, and nobody bothers stopping them for a few days so they get extra criminal charges.

Any time my wife has been given the run around by doctors, I usually ask for her to schedule another appointment so I can be there, and I demand the doctors put notes, make something on the record that they SPECIFICALLY ARE DENYING TESTING and the reason behind it before I will leave.

So far it's worked every time to get them to just do the goddamn test, take the fucking scan, or do some simple blood work.

Doctors like that are more afraid of malpractice suits than they are of killing a patient over negligence.

The first time it happened was because she had cholecystitis and the doctor was insisting she was too young to have any issues with it, but I was older and had already had my gallbladder removed over it several years before. So I knew the signs, I knew the feeling, and I had doctors from the same hospital ignore my symptoms. Once the demand for notes to be recorded, suddenly everyone is all for doing a simple scan and what do you know, her gallbladder is filled with sludge and stones, neither of which should be there, and it's swelling. A week later it was out, but they wanted to wait 6 months "to wait and see if you're still having discomfort"

To anyone who has never had gallstones, it's like someone is taking a glowing hot knife and stabbing you from just above the stomach toward your spine. It's "discomfort" the way giving birth is "mild pain"

Demand tests and demand records of test denials. Fear of lawsuits and losing licenses goes a lot further than "you're a doctor who is supposed to help people get better" to some.

In-laws children have a severely limited reading ability. 12 and 13 year Olds can barely read some 4-letter words.

Their math skills are worse, sitting around 2nd grade level.

The youngest are still in the "learn to socialize with other children" phase of education, but all 8 of their kids need severe assistance in their education.

But when one of the answers to their homework is "why is math perfect? because God is perfect and God made math" then it's no surprise.

The day an automated system reduces my pay for socializing all of 3 seconds to myself is the day I begin welding steel plates to a bulldozer and go for a drive through upper mansgemt offices.

I'm a fan of the Forgotten Realms/D&D type of magic users where the long-lived races like elves see humans as reckless, bordering on insane, for how quickly they race through learning and understanding magic. An elf might take a decade to fully understand a single spell before she wants to use it regularly, a human will race through ALL her learning in 3 years.

And because humans are humans, they just might spend decades pushing a specific magic type or spell to its absolute limits, in a way that elves would never even think of because it's just outright insane.

Yeah, I'm getting really tired of people saying "well it's an illegal order so it doesn't matter" and not giving it another thought, despite everyone in power treating them as perfectly legal, and nobody doing a goddamn thing to put a stop to it.

If trump issues an executive order calling for executions of minorities, it doesn't fucking matter how legal it is if the powers that be let people do it, and let Trump stay out of prison.

We aren't to that point just yet, but I fully believe something on that level is coming, they've just got to ease into it so it just doesn't seem that much worse than the last thing that was done.

Until I see actual consequences that make a difference, my hopes are sitting around 0.

My first thought was ".... Again? They need some better contraceptives" but no, it's the same one... A shame, that would open the door for so many jokes.

That horse will haunt my night-mares. Pun not initially intended...
