I disagree with this statement. Hamas' actions are justified, moral and legal for the following reasons:

1. Global Court Says Israel’s Occupation of Territories Violates International Law

2. The occupation has been ongoing since the 1967 Six Day War that was preemptive and started with a lie.

3. Hamas on multiple occasions was willing to drop its weapons, accept peace and a 2-state solution on 1967 borders, but that was rejected by multiple Israeli governments

Supporting genocide hurt it massively in the Arab and Muslim world.

Unshockingly, the source you are citing is unreliable and promotes US interventionism and imperialism. Thankfully, reality doesn't depend on you believing it. The US here is stepping out of line and has no legal or moral authority to dictate to anyone how to run their elections.
