And then you fuck up your asynchronous timing, leaving a race condition where the sandwich has bread on the inside. Oh, and QA can only reproduce sometimes

Yeah imo it definitely depends on what the tool is. If there's a bunch of data processing/aggregation that's being handled by said service, it makes sense that there would be a recurring cost. API licensing ain't cheap. (However I'm super biased, as I write software for an app using a SaaS yearly subscription model)

Same here! One of the only places in the US where a gay couple can defend their Marijuana plants with guns legally. Plus we just re-affirmed abortion access in our state constitution not long ago. Really, most of us just don't like people telling us what we can and can't do.

Reminds me of the "No True Scotsman" logical fallacy based on the example you provided. Wiki article

Reminds me of the novel "A Roadside Picnic". Great read if you're into scifi, also was the inspiration for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R game series.

Huh weird seeing my tiny state's politicians in the spotlight like this lol. Tim Sheehy is, as we like to say, "all hat and no cattle".
