One thing that everyone should learn in sex ed is the Kinsey scale 0-6, and bisexual is 1-5 on the scale, so that's most of the scale. Most people don't know this and if they do, most won't admit the same gender attraction. Even in generally decent marriages to the opposite gender, they never know each other fully. Some might confuse that as choosing to be "straight" but they are still Kinsey 4 or whatever, and should not be resentful of people who chose both ways or not marriage. They should support equal rights too. It's all good whatever number people are, be free!

Wake up, be alert to the truth available here and now if you choose! Look up questions like this to learn more! "How did the Powell Memo, the Gingrich/Luntz linguistic strategies and modern algorithms systematically construct a framework to restrict majoritarian democracy, as exposed in Democracy in Chains? Why haven't Dems done the same strategy based on misleading and lies, and how can society transcend these systems to build healthy, human-centric public policies that foster liberty and justice for all?"

Culture war is due to the oppression against people, human rights, by high-control groups, indoctrinated prejudice and punching down. Dems stepped up to support human rights, as compassionate people do. There is a clear division between healthy systems that defend human rights, and unhealthy ones that punch down and other ways those at the top of the hierarchy benefit from and protect. To vote against the rights of supposed loved ones is wrong. Some claim socially liberal but don't support it in action, just hollow words.

This was purposely twisted to make Dems the instigators of a "culture war", when it was support for rights to life, liberty and justice for all, supposed founding values. The propaganda that Dems don’t care about workers and men is more lies. It's actually courageous to support your queer loved ones, rather than joke along with the slurs against them. Something about integrity and what you do when no one is looking. Supporting human rights is basic decency and does not take away from majority. It’s not zero sum as the controlling types want to believe and preach.

The propaganda that too many people still fall for, so, yes, maga should stop using it and focus on human first policies to reduce costs and increase wages and benefits. Dems support liberty and justice for all and don't put trans rights above other issues as the brainwashing says. No politician is perfect on these issues, but some support helpful policies for us more than others. If they ever get enough time and large enough majority to pass big things it would be nice, but can't blame them for the swings that easily destroy progress that took time to build. Maybe the dnc powers try to limit their majority so they can't to do what we want? I hope not, but candidates not bought by big money and promote healthy ways should serve us better, if enough ever win at once to do much, hmm.

At the core, MAGA and similar high-control groups reject universal systems that reduce suffering, like healthcare, paid leave and climate action, because they require shared responsibility, which conflicts with their hyper-individualist, anti-collectivist worldview. Instead, they promote piecemeal, market-based solutions that prioritize corporate profits while shifting costs to individuals.

This isn’t just bad policy, it’s a deliberate choice to maintain power for a few at the expense of many. Many countries have much lower per-capita costs, better health outcomes and longer life expectancy than the US. Even red states like Arkansas and Montana expanded Medicaid and saw reduced mortality, lower medical debt and improved mental health.

These solutions work when seriously implemented, and they would work here too if enough people prioritized collective well-being over selfish ideologies masquerading as virtue. The decline in quality-of-life measures in the U.S. over the past decade reflects this failure. Doubling down will make all this worse, even though the propaganda from controlling groups will keep blaming minorities and other red herrings and many will fall for it as they do sadly. We really can break free from the indoctrination and see the truth!

Ultimately, maga’s unhealthiness is they refuse to adapt to reality, whether that’s climate science, economic data, or global best practices. Their policies actively make life worse for most Americans while enriching a tiny elite. The tragedy is that many of their own voters would benefit from the very systems they oppose, but corporate propaganda, tribalism and proudly choose to stay in dualism, keep them voting against their own interests repeatedly. Until that changes, the US will continue to lag behind nations that prioritize people over profits. Real truth sets us free!

Maybe they can buy subscription from them for protection. Sounds like the business model.

I like Bota Breeze for lower alcohol and cost efficient, something easy to enjoy with healthy home cooked food! Less or no alcohol is good trend to see for our health.

When people refuse to learn about an unfamiliar group, the primary cause is identity protection bias, where the brain views new information as a threat to its existing worldview and social standing. This is an emotional defense mechanism that triggers willful ignorance to avoid psychological discomfort. By reframing the unfamiliar group as individual humans rather than abstract concepts, you lower their neurological threat response and allow curiosity to naturally replace hostility.

We all can do better when we all learn more, the truth will set us free, like Sagan said!

See the other reply and that's really sad I hope he will be ok.

This is not true in all places and often people "feel like" things are worse than they are, but yes some really are stuck, and more right-wing policies will make it worse. I worked since I was 14 but didn't start career until 2000. I spent within what I made, while friends didn't and they had financial issues. I worked hard at various jobs and had student loans that I paid off, paid rent, food, car, all of it. I fully agree that companies need to pay more, better benefits and universal healthcare, and we will only get those for all, if enough politicians are elected at once to pass big reforms. It sucks if it's really impossible to cut costs and learn new ways that MMM and others do, and it's not just higher incomes if you look into it. There is a post for jobs over $50k w/o degree, which is old so incomes should be more than that now. Ask how can you make this work rather than why it's impossible, you can do it! It is sad that some get stuck in a hole to start and keep digging in deeper, when they could learn how to do better. If you look at the big issues like healthcare, healthy work/life balance and better pay and benefits which supports a healthy economy, it's like 7/10 Dem platform vs 2/10 for gop, of which would help people the best. This is not new, but the propaganda and brainwashing works enough to prevent sustained progress. Of course they can't pass the big bills w/o enough majority and for long enough to maintain the progress, but enough ignore that and swing the other way and it will get worse again.

[–] Gpennyhigh@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Sadly yes and tribalism, but it's promoted from sports to supernatural systems, so they keep the prejudice against many groups going, generational prejudice that holds back healthy society. I really thought after 90s most people would see that equality didn't hurt them, and would keep voting for that and better humanity, but they doubled down on the unhealthy ways several times.
