I think it's a hamfisted allusion to the fact that Communists who ironically are Leninist and not communist. Are authoritarians like Republicans. Though who knows

We will never get rid of psychopaths. Any system that doesn't account for them is the problem. Better systems don't consolidate power in ways desirable and easily exploited by psychopaths. Any system that doesn't have real safeguards is the problem.

Yep I have an account on social and follow a few communities from there.

Well it's that, and a theory is a theory. You have a theory, you test it's hypothesis. If instead of a free classless stateless society you keep ending up with authoritarian states. You've invalidated your hypothesis. Disproven your theory, and need to change it. If you cling to the same old theory regardless of it working or not. Then it's not a theory, but a religion.

I tried in the last week but no luck.

Yes, definitely a bit higher profile among elder goth and postpunkers. Not a lot released and it's release was a long time ago. But just as good still today.

Saw you post this on mastodon as well. Sadly I don't think posting to LW from mastodon is currently working. At least not for me.

But this track is classic for sure

Ghost Dance just released a new album! Looks to be their first bandcamp release. But don't let that fool you. They're eldergoth, been around 40+ years. Listening through it right now and so far its great.

Brand new release from Poland. Agnis has her sophomore album out now. Really strong vocals with a mix of EBM and darkwave.

Check out the ones he mentioned as well. He mentioned Stephen Archer at the start of the set stoneburner is an awesome project as is Ego likeness which he's involved with both. I've not met him myself. But he's a friend of a friend. At one point we were going to have an online space in a type of metaverse as an art gallery of his works. But that was about the time the pandemic hit and things fell apart a bit.

Rodney does it the Friday of the first full week of the month. So a once a month thing. But yes all his past shows are archived. And having listened to quite a few of them. They are well worth listening to. He is a DJ after my own heart. Though he did surprise me with one group I hadn't heard before on Friday. But he definitely knows his stuff. Also he is full on on the fediverse. So don't be afraid to follow him if you have Mastodon. Despite his name recognition and successes he's a very approachable affable guy.

China exerts extreme control over businesses that operate from there. That's a simple fact. This individuals motivations aren't extremely relevant.

Might their motivations be alarmist? Perhaps. Might they be protectionist? There's a very good chance. Xenophobic and bigoted. Knowing human nature the odds are good. How does any of that change the fact that the Chinese government has tight controls over all businesses within their border? Again that is a simple fact. And makes this concern not unwarranted. Let's phrase it this way. Would you be defending a US state-controlled organization from doing similar in China? I doubt it.

New single release from a long time favorite! A fun cover of Screaming Jay Hawkins - I Put a Spell on You

Just found out @[email protected] is on mastodon. For those of you unfamiliar or uninitiated think Dead Milkmen.

He does a great show every Friday on ynot radio. Plenty of goth darkwave and Industrial on tap. It's been over a year since I listened last. Just life and everything else getting in the way. But I will definitely be tuning in this Friday and I hope a few of you will as well.

KMFDM always has a way with hooks and lyrics.

On the prowl for skin and bone to tear I'm a skeleton looking for meat to wear The abject gift, eternity Making death a victory

The sum of human wretchedness Enter the arena Laughing all the way through the night I am hyena

A good new mellow album released by Korine. They definitely have a vibe like "the cure" while still being their own thing.

It may not be Sunday anymore but is it too late for a little church?

Anyone up for a Gothic pop punk sing along? I can't help myself any time a Creature Feature track comes up. Buried alive, aim for the head, Greatest Show on Unearthed. They are all earworms that you can't help but mindlessly sing along to.
