Holy crap dude, I hadn’t seen that one yet. That was nuts!

Totally thought this was a screencap from dashcam owners Australia at first

Partner made a chiffon cake yesterday for a trifle we’re bringing to our neighbors’ New Year’s Eve dinner. House made custard and whipped cream too. Blueberries and strawberries from the local Colesworths though.

Yeah nah, I was definitely surprised to see this in the store. I’m sure there’ll be some opinions on whether or not that’s legit Vegemite or some shady impostor

That’s… impressively comprehensive. Many thanks!

So, vegemite is growing on me. What is your preferred method for consumption? Big drizzle on toast? Hidden in a mound of jam? Look at it occasionally while it collects dust in the back of the pantry?

It’s on my to-do list, for sure. So far those lovely choccy biccies get devoured well before they are able to get close to the tea and coffee

Ouch. Naturally, we’re going to have to sample all the different flavors.

I’m going to go bankrupt buying these damn things.

Alas, we have American passports. I suspect we’ll be in for a thorough inspection. Inside and out. You’d think that the prior inspections we’ve had for the visas and the work security clearance would have sufficed…

We have a 2 hour layover in Sydney before our flight to Brisbane. We need to get through customs from the international terminal to the domestic terminal in less than 2 hours.

Any tips on speed running this thing?

We’re going be calling Queensland/Brisbane home. Still sussing out which suburbs will fit our educational and proximity to work needs.

So far general consensus says look more into the credit unions. That would be an easier jump for us, since we’ve been with one for a lifetime here.

We’ve seen recommendations for Commonwealth Bank of Australia as a way to get started easily and then possibly move to a more permanent provider.

We’re working on setting up the ability to spend money easily in Australia. We’re looking at Wise for transfers and starting to live in Aus. As we roll into collecting pay, are there any banks or credit unions that are recommended or actively discouraged from using?
