Interesting take but i'd say the real issue here is that breaded meat shouldnt come in contact with sauce when receiving the meal on a plate. Its not about denying sauce for the sauce enjoyers. Its about choice. The sauce should be served seperatly in a saucière. With that approach you can have sauce and the breaded crunch too.

I always enjoyed browsing 'new'. Both here and on that other site you might know of. Personally i dont like the bots here. They just clutter the timeline IMHO. I visit 'social media' for a feed which is pre-curated by humans. I'd rather use RSS if i wanted a constant stream of news articles without curation by others. The problem i see on lemmy is that in rare cases the bot posts still get user engagement which i miss out on if i just outright filter the bots out.
Its nothing i lose sleep over and the situation as is... is alright i guess. But if i had anything to say and had a choice i would outright ban them. But tbh i didnt think through the consquences.
I'd say its mostly sample size. Lemmy is still small. The ever so slightly off feeling interactions have a higher chance of getting noticed because they dont get buried under hundreds or even thousands of other posts most of the time. So its pretty easy to come across discussion threads which werent upvoted by the hivemind for beeing 'normal'.
my evidence for it beeing ai: that sad bit of parsley in the top right. it would had never made it into the picture if this was real. considering how much effort would have gone into prepping up the meal perfectly.
Hmm, in my experience there are lots of people in the emulation community who just enjoy to get things to work. So the fun comes from building up the romsets, setup the hardware, setup the emulator, test if the games are working, dial in the config for edge cases, maybe layer on a crt-shader, package everything behind a frontend, etc.
They rarely play through an entire game and instead just test out one of the thousands of roms they showed on to their handheld for a few minutes.
Yes, i'm talking also about myself. But after 10 years in the 'hobby' this seems to be pretty common.

Absurd.
