[email protected] is now mod only. Things seem to get nasty.

Especially when a lot of new joiners encounter the same issue at the same time

Lemm.ee also automated some the detection of bad actors

We have automated a lot of this stuff on lemm.ee as well

Edit: SJW as well based on the parent comment

Thank you for the details!

Have you promoted it on [email protected] ?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Posts can be hidden in the feeds, not from the profile

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago

It's all good ha ha

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Doesn't seem enforced, most of the posts don't have a language tag: https://feddit.org/c/ich_iel

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

If a community has only one language enabled in the settings, all the posts on that community will automatically be tagged with that language

Examples

Maybe that's something that can be raised to the feddit.org mods

A Myanmar rebel group that controls one of the world's largest rare earth zones has told miners there it will allow shipments of existing rare earth inventories to China from Thursday, according to two sources and a statement reviewed by Reuters.

Rare earth mining in Myanmar is concentrated in Kachin state around the towns of Panwa and Chipwe, which have been controlled by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) since last October.

List of instances: https://piefed.fediverse.observer/list

Piefed has a few nice features that Lemmy and Mbin lack

  • instance blocking
  • comments combination, posts only appear once
  • keyword filter
  • topics (admin-managed feeds)
  • user-managed feeds, public and private
  • ability to reduce the amount of Trump and Musk content

It doesn't have an app yet, but it's in progress

At the moment, it only has 352 monthly active users, so it seems like people aren't very interested in it yet

Is this the lack of app, or is there anything else?

At the time of writing Summit for Lemmy should be completely open source.

After a lot of contemplation I've decided to open source the app. There are still some changes that probably need to happen before it can be considered "FOSS" but this is a huge step I think.

As I'm voiced my opinions on this previously, the main repository for Summit will not be to the public for PRs. If you encounter bugs or have any feature requests please continue to send them through the proper channels (ideally to this community).

Enjoy~~
