I found it very telling that HBO re-wrote the entire Butlerian jihad because the robots were evil, rather than the actual point where using machines to replace humans was wicked and evil

In his defense, I also have a west facing window in my office and it is absolute ass trying to get anything done from 3-5.

Also, dude has obviously never worken up before 8am at any point since college, since you won't get a sunrise like that anywhere in California, and that's not what a Miami sunrise looks like

Yes, and that movement is fascism as they punish minorities

Have you ever actually worked in a factory? Things are way less automated than you would believe. I worked at a plastic injection molding company 5 years ago and we had exactly one press that would automatically apply stickers to the product once it came out, and it would break down constantly. Another factory i was hand sealing fiberglass sheets together for use in washing machines. Or when i worked at a tire factory, i was weighing out curing chemicals by hand into a scale, monitoring rubber coming out, and even handcutting rubber to recycle. The inly factories that have heavy automation are brand new, because management takes one look at the eyewatering price to repair automated equipment and find that it's cheaper to oay someone $20/ hour to do it by hand.

But what if the valve was actuated electronically with no manual access?

They're just mad and stupid and the left did nothing to manage and redirect this toddlerish rage and incompetence, instead we pretended the system was fair and the idiots wouldn't have power because how could they. Naive and foolish on both sides.

Liberals did all that. The actual leftists have been saying for decades that this was exactly where liberal centrism was going to end up as the Democrats did everything they could to keep funneling money up to the top as well.

These dudes are so much fun to watch. One i was out in my front porch (90 minutes from Dublin no less), high as shit listening to Caravan by Black Sabbath and one of. These guys started going to town on the tree branch above my head.

Yeah, this is pretty much intend to destroy St. Louis as a city and remove Missouri's last relevance on the national stage.

It's just because the way we understand transgender people has changed a lot in the last 50 years. Ultimately the guy accepts Lola for who she is, so I don't see how that can be considered bad, especially when the band has said for decades that they wrote the song to give trans people perception in the public eye.

"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." Letting tthe Republicans shoot themselves in the foot is very different than giving them everything they want on a silver platter.

I didn't intend it that way. But we are hittinng a precipe as boomers start dying off and a lot of great, but lesser known music will be forgotten about, e en if it canstill bee streamed. Artists like Tony Orlando, Mungo Jerry, Paul Revere and the Raiders, or Johhny Rovers will end up only being known by a niche group of music nerds much like big band and swing artists.

Idk how you can blame the Democrats for a shutdown when Republicans control all three bodies that can avert it

Sorry for the infrequent posts. I lost my job and am trying to move out to Cleveland. Add some other personal stuff to the mix and it has been a rough month for me.

But these are a gift for my best friend's birthday this weekend. She's an absolute coffee fiend. I'm not big on tropical flavors at all so I'm not really impressed by them, but here's hoping she likes them.

Notes from baking these, but my powdered egg substitute was not useful. I had a lot of issue gettting the dough to come together and ended up using way more oil than is usually necessary for biscotti. They al holding shape, but they were definitely more crumbly than i was originally hoping for.

Been meaning to make a baklava for a few months, and figured this was the perfect time to do it! The phyllo dough took me a bit to figure out, but once i realized you just need to starch the shit out if it while rolling and just keep stacking it, it worked out great! My bottom layer is fucked, the middle one a little thick, but the top layer was absolutely magical

Started my first union job right before Thanksgiving and elections are this week. Results will be in this weekend since contract negotiations start on Tuesday. Everyone is gearing up for a big fight and i am nervous, but excited.

Anyway, they had a trailer set up in the parking lot and the steward flagged me down to get over there and vote.

Been super busy recently and have fallen behind on my baking so i decided to do a two-for-one and make zebra cakes! I even made the cake mix from scrath with gliten free flour so my friend with Celiacs could try one!

I have never used any LLM's, and didn't fee like starting, so i went with a random recipe from my go to baking site. Unfortunately the batter ended up WAY too stiff and nothing i did allowed me to pipe these suckers out, so they just sorta ended up as regualr cookies, but delicious none the less.

I do think piping would have made them better though. The center of the cookies wasn't nearly as good as the crispy outsides, and piping them would have really increased the surface area.

My bagels turned out not so great for cream cheese, as you really need to make the hole in the middle massive, but they were excellent for homemade pizza bagels! Made a great lunch for my and my neighbors's kids!

Originally i tried doing lemon-blackberry muffins but they were awful and not fit to share. These mini loafs are lovely, although they probably should have come out of the oven 5 minutes sooner. The lemon glazing on top really seals the deal on these tasty snacks

So I'm gonna let yall know right now that nothing but potholes has come out of the ground alonng the shores of Lake Erie since November. Seasonal ingredients here means whatever you're great-grandpatents could keep in their cellar through the winter. This rhutabega gratin has gruyere cheese, dried thyme, garlic, whipping cream, and vegetable stock with a bit of turmeric powder to really let the unique flavor of the rhutabega shine. It was absolutely delicious, the rhutabegas were perfectly crisp and moist, and it makes for a perfect side dish one a miserable winters day like we are having.
