Pfft, why argue the name of donut holes when you can create a trinut?

[–] kruhmaster@sh.itjust.works 45 points 10 months ago (4 children)

"ThEy LoOk DeLiCiOuS", as if more holes changed the taste somehow πŸ˜‚

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 16 points 10 months ago

LOL I thought the same thing, plus they don't actually look all that great they look like shitty pre-made gas station doughnuts so they are mediocre at best.

The more hole the better

[–] Nalivai@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

It actually is. More surface area, more tasty, tasty maillard reaction

[–] kartoffelsaft@programming.dev 2 points 10 months ago

Ok this may sound insane but trangle cut sandwiches definitely taste different than square cut. 3 holed donuts obviously won't but at least with sandwitches it changes how much of the crust vs everything else you taste.

That's just a deformed pretzel

What a weird way to spell "timbits"

[–] NightOwl@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 months ago

Un Bits de Tim as they say in Quebec

[–] Veedem@lemmy.world 14 points 10 months ago

I’m from the North East so our proprietary eponym for them is β€œmunchkins”

[–] adam_y@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

Nah, we sometimes call them "Yank Vegetables".

I've got a dumb opinion about this: They're just old fashioneds for people who don't understand aspect ratios applied to frosting per bite.

[–] Sergio@slrpnk.net 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I used to like donuts, then one day I started making my own frosting and put it on cake and toast and other stuff. Eventually I got tired of it and I haven't wanted donuts since. My theory is that donuts give you just enough frosting to want more but not enough to be satisfying, so you keep eating those blobs of deep-fried bread hoping to get enough frosting.

Don't think I've eaten a donut in a couple years now. I feel like I know what they taste like by now.
