I just ordered one of these bad boys from PSA. They got em for about $240 and with the $100 credit for the beretta store I’ll be able to grab a holster for nothing. Anybody who’s had one of these have any strong feeling either way on it? Have you had any cycling problems with any particular ammos.

I’m getting back into the habit of carrying regularly and intend to replace the beretta pico I used to carry in situations regular compacts were unconcealable. I’m not looking for a high performance luxury shooting experience. Just something I trust will work and that I can deliver center mass up to 30 yards.

I have the APX Carry, not the A1.

It is a perfectly adequate gun. I have no strong feelings for or against it. I admittedly haven't shot it in years, but I do remember mine shot several inches low. I also remember one or two malfunctions in the few hundred rounds I've had through it, but that was cheap range blasting ammo.

If you look at pictures of the old Beretta Nano and the APX Carry side by side, you can clearly tell that's its lineage, not the APX full size.

The magazine capacity is obsolescent in the now crowded market of "micro-9s" which hold a minimum of 10 flush, but you can still make it work. This is likely the main reason why they are being offloaded at a markdown.

That sounds like exactly what I was hoping to get out of it. I have a G23 and Ruger SR40c for all the times I can effectively conceal one of them on my person. I was used to carrying a Pico years ago which has a strict capacity of 6+1 in .380 so the small capacity in a 9mm doesn’t put me off too much.

You weren’t kidding about the nano. There’s a clear relation there. I’ve ready a few other reports about the A1 carry hitting low too. The general consensus was the heavy and “gritty” trigger pull was causing an overcompensation in anticipation of the recoil. I’m hopeful a few hundred round of mindful practice can iron that out for me.

Never carried but I think the APX (regular; all I've used) is a terrific gun.

Very nice. From what I’ve read the APX A1 Carry and the original APX are almost not related at this point. How long have you had the APX?

Ooooh, I bought it two administrations ago, feeling similar to how I do now. It was the lead up to the election that put Biden in the white house and guns were selling out like crazy while Trump was stoking his base months ahead of time that if he lost it would be because the election and by extension the democratic process had been rigged and soiled. The idea that half the electorate would be stoked on that kind of brain poison and more armed than ever, and, that if one needed a gun they'd have a hard time obtaining one moved me to break out the old credit card. So. Whenever that was. Five years ago I guess? Never touched it until I took a number of shooting classes a couple years back. But I've only just now been making an effort to get back into shooting. As it was then, I don't have any grand delusions about how and when I would ever 'need' to use a gun, but the current climate just makes me feel I'd rather have it and not need it than the other way around.

I find myself in a similar boat. Having carried daily for about 2 years almost completely getting away from it for a number of years to just in the last few months getting a full size gun cabinet, new concealed carry permit and a firearm I’m confident is using in any scenario I can dream up. Feels like all Americans are likely to be exposed to more violence in the near future. Whether that’s just economic strife forcing people to resort to violence for their needs, politically directed violence or just dangerous people feeling emboldened to act. The last gap I needed to fill was a micro-compact I could carry without my kids constantly seeing a pistol on my body.

I certainly impulse bought this one based on the price and having a mostly positive impression of Berettas.

Yeah that price is unbeatable! I might have said in my last comment, can't recall, but I'd like a P365. shot very well with it in training courses and it's the smallest little guy. I think it would be impractical for me to carry at this point in my life due to the job I work, and I think my SO would have a major problem with it. But as you said, whether it's coming from above or below, it feels a lot like threats of violence could be increasing in the next decade. So I dunno. I'm also reading Citizen-Protectors: the Everyday Politics of Guns in an Age of Decline by Jennifer Carlson. It's interesting, if unsurprising stuff. Have you read it? It's a pretty even-handed look, by a sociologist, at the who-what-where-why's of pistol carry in the USA. It's a decent read.

I had a sig p320 as my first firearm. It was excellent. I haven’t held a p365 yet I’d imagine they shoot and handle great. Aren’t they the ones with multiple alleged random discharges without a trigger pull though? I admittedly haven’t looked into the validity surrounding those complaints.

I’ll add that book to my list. A lot of people on Reddit were recommending Adaptive Rifle by Ben Stoeger as a valuable read too so I’ve got some homework to do.

Nah it was the P320 with the discharge issue actually. I'll look into Adaptive Rifle

Oh word. I’m glad I don’t have that p320 anymore then
