Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

"It's vile."
They want it that way.

"It's inhumane."
They want it that way.

"It's dangerous."
They want it that way.

"It's criminal."
They want it that way.

"It's illegal."
They want it that way.

The current administration is doing all the evil because...they want it that way.

It is genuinely scary how normalized it is. I know we are disgusted by it. But i mean how it does really receive that much push back.

Judge orders are completely ignored and way to many people are cheering. We are only 2 months in an i have not been this terrified in my life of how close we are to a war between many countries in the west. 2 months and they proceed as if there are no boundaries or roadblocks.

I really think we are underestimating what is coming.

For sure. Anyone with a good command of history knows where we are headed.

The old saying is "Those who ignore history, are doomed to repeat it." It's supposed to be cautionary, but for the MAGA Nazis, its a Game Plan. They think the only thing wrong with the Nazis of WWII is that they weren't ruthless enough to win. They don't intend to make that same mistake. If anything, the MAGA Nazis will be far worse.

It's hard not to be biased by the stability of the past. And for me, news about DC politics seems distant.

Literally

There's no way they have enough fire suppression systems to stop everyone who hates this admin who could be armed with at least 2 molotovs.

Can you imagine how gaudy a WH designed by Trump would be.

On March 18, the official White House account on X posted two photographs of Virginia Basora-Gonzalez, a woman who was arrested earlier this month by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The post described her as a “previously deported alien felon convicted of fentanyl trafficking,” and celebrated her capture as a win for the administration. In one photograph, Basora-Gonzalez is shown handcuffed and weeping in a public parking lot.

The White House account posted about Basora-Gonzalez again yesterday—this time, rendering her capture in the animated style of the beloved Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki, who co-founded the animation company Studio Ghibli. Presumably, whoever runs the account had used ChatGPT, which has been going viral this week for an update to its advanced “4o” model that enables it to transform photographs in the style of popular art, among other things. The White House did not respond directly to a request for comment, instead referring me to a post by Deputy Communications Director Kaelan Dorr that says, in part, “The arrests will continue. The memes will continue.”

Look at the cruelty. By the elected representatives of a people who won’t stop this.

I kinda know these skinwalkers just want to lick Elon's ass rn, but that feels like another low no one ever thought is possible. What memes you, facebook bro, want to continue posting? Did your kids abandon you too? How to even start to compute this shit?

I mean Elon was a 4chan user at some point and probably still mostly to inflate his ego from time to time. So it makes sense.

4chan has glimmers of quality, unlike these asswipes
