Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

RAHHHH FUCK OFF CUZ WTF IS A KILOMETER 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (2 children)

If you are so patriotic, (no searching) how many yards go in a mile? How many in a fathom, a furlong? How many barleys to an inch?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

I HAVE THE FREEDOM TO USE MY GOD GIVEN GOOGLE HOWEVER I PLEASE 🦅🦅🏇🤠🔫

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

22 yards in a chain.

10 chain in a furlong.

8 furlong in a mile.

Yes, i do just know that.

Furthermore, if you multiply a meter by .3048, you get a foot.

I do 3d modeling in blender, and my brain can't metric.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

its a thousand meters :3

Nothing beats the store brand stuff that smells like molten gummy bears and costs 60 cents.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

And is probably radioactive or something

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I think that's literally the name of some of them.

Monster and Redbull are nasty. C4 or Reign for me. Celsius seems to ramp up my anxiety for some reason

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Congrats on your free flight, bozo. Enjoy the concentration camp. Here in freeville, home of the free, you're free to like monster or Red Bull and that's it.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

why are we making concentration camp jokes bro. for the record not funny.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Making jokes about it to shine light on the fact that it's happening right now, and to cope with that

Celsius has a crazy amount of caffeine and it's packed into a smaller can than the rest of them.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

The regular Celsius cans have 200mg IIRC, Bang and Reign are higher.

I uhhh, don't really process caffeine normal, i kinda drink them to relax 😶 its not even a tolerance thing, i can go months without, chug one, take a nap.

Edit; although i did down 9 shots (more like 3 small coffee cups full) of really strong espresso in one sitting once. That was not pleasant.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If high doses of caffeine make you feel relaxed, you may want to look into taking an ADHD assessment, and getting some medication. This is not medical advice. Just a suggestion.

Im well aware sadly, just waiting on a psychologist opening...

Same boat here. Recently prescribed the vyvase? One and it’s been a total game changer.

But legit would drink coffee before bed to sort of “focus” on sleeping lmao. Was “dialing it back” and still at 4-5 cups a day prior to meds. Now just have a single cup around 1 pm.

A bit sad about it - I love the flavor of coffee. And energy drinks. But at the same time 3 hours after first dose everything in my mind became so much less “aggressive” like my executive wasn’t being pulled. And I could push it.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

Redbull is mid but monster has a certain taste I can't get anywhere else. Keeps me coming back tbh. Plus the neon vitamin piss after drinking it is cool

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

whatever sweetener is in celcius gives me a headache as soon as i sip it once

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Where my gym people at, drinking Monster White as pre-workout ??

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What is with the whole internet and white monsters? I tried one and it wasn't much different from the default flavor

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

the white monster is SO different than the normal one, have you tried side by side?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Yeah, store brands imitate the original kinda well, but that tastes like trash for me and I've searched for alternatives for MWhite without success... :(

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Now if only I could figure out why rehab Monsters are the only ones to not give me headaches anymore.... even when compared to a different energy drink with similar caffeine...

Energy drink brands.

Monster and redbull are the most common.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I kinda get it then. I didn't know monster was that common I guess

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

the other missing piece is that it’s a parody of a transphobic meme: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/real-x-vs-mental-disorders

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Ah I did not have this context lol

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What is the most common energy drink where you’re at?

Green Dragon 4 life

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Probably red bull, Celsius and --reign-- bang, I had to look at the picture again to remember

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Celsius is pretty cool, zero sugar, lots of flavor variety,
