MODERATORS

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus have condemned the House-passed spending bill and vowed to vote against it when it comes up in the Senate, even as other Democrats say they’ll support it to avert a government shutdown.

...

All four Black Democratic senators said they will vote against the continuing resolution.

Thank You, CBC! The rest of the Dems need to get with the program.

For anyone wondering if there is a black Republican senator, yes.

But I guess it goes without saying that Tim Scott (SC) is not a member of the caucus.

0/5 Black Republicans in the house and senate are in the CBC

Unless it is enough anti-votes to stop the CR, then this is just posturing in attempt to make up for not doing a goddamn thing until now

I used to regularly vote for Hakeem Jefferies, did that motherfucker has lost my boat forever.

I used to be into sailing, too. Maybe you could get another boat?

Nobody should have to be a sailor just to get equal representation under the law.

Everyone within the jurisdiction of the United States is, according to the constitution, accord that. I don’t need to “go sailing more” in order to deserve equal rights. Nobody does, and nobody should ever have to be.

Shame on you for putting conditions on fairness under the law.

I'll not accept your shame. I just thought you enjoyed sailing. Perhaps just getting down to the shore, liminal space, would help. And to be clear, equal representation under the law, that's the promise. Nobody, not even I said you need to be a sailor. smh.

Now you know better than to assign your own aspirations to an Internet stranger who has already vociferously disagreed with you.

May you take this lesson into the future for better communication with other.s

Ironic comment, considering their own antics so far on Lemmy.

Not to get in the way of someone not voting for Hakeem Jefferies, but he's in the House, which voted nearly unanimously (one breakaway) against the CR.

The continuing resolution had to be approved by the house before it went to the Senate. Hakeem Jeffries was certainly involved.

I’ve never been more disappointed in all my life

Except for when I learned it that both of my parents were malignant, narcissist and neurologically, incapable of perceiving the concept of “love”, but at least they had the good sense not to run for public office.

You may call that bias, I just say that it’s further motivation to support a pluralistic and equitable democracy

Yes, he was involved in organizing all but one of the Democratic caucus members to vote against it. And the one vote they lost wasn't the difference in it passing. That was pretty close to the maximal amount of opposition for the thing you're pretending to be angry about.

I'm assuming that you're trying to do some kind of bit, but it's too confused a character to actually have an underlying statement or joke.
