Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

It is not unusual in monarchies for the first-born son to take over the line of succession.

Gotta keep up the charade

The plebs still need to believe it's a democracy. That's why Russia and North Korea have elections too, it gives the plebs the chance to vote for their dear leader

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 24 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It's a cult and cults only follow the cult leader.

Have fun living in your cult leader father's shadow, dipshit.

You mean, like in an African dictatorship?

[–] Punchshark@lemmy.ca 14 points 11 months ago (2 children)

And muricans will line up to lick his big fat pussy!

[–] MasterBlaster@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Reminder: less than half of us voted for Trump. I'm pissed at the morons who sat out the election, and I'm wondering if i can nomad my way back to Europe or Canada. Problem is, both are in the crosshairs of tyrants.

I guess I'll have to stand and fight, no matter what i do, since i fear Trump might succeed in eliminating legal opposition.

[–] Uninformed_Tyler@lemmy.world 14 points 11 months ago

idk, If we still have a democracy by then I am not sure it transfers. Trump is a cult of personality. He could easily be a congressman in the right district but president?

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 12 points 11 months ago (1 children)

So, a cokehead in the oval? Why not! /s

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Tbf, he won't be the first one or the last. 😅

[–] djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Holy shit this could really work. If anyone can keep the cult of Trump alive, it's another Trump. Think of the hero worship of Kim Il Sung in North Korea. MAGA wants to deify Trump in just the same manner. Trump will become the great "God Emperor of America" who will fight to keep the Democrats out of heaven or w/e, and Trump Jr will act as Kim Jong Il and take over ruling.

It really depends on how quickly the old sack of shit actually dies. It's meant to be the most stressful job in the world, and he's back to unlimited mcdonalds. If it happens quickly, maybe the whole house of cards just collapses.

[–] Nasan@sopuli.xyz 5 points 11 months ago

I'd argue it's considerably less stressful when you're too dimwitted to understand the stakes and potential consequences of your actions and inactions. Even more so when you've tossed out any sense of professionalism and decorum that comes with the job. The people flipping burgers for him have more stressful jobs than the miserable sack of rotten cosmetic product waste.

[–] Feanorsjewelry@lemm.ee 11 points 11 months ago

Let’s not.

[–] Sarmyth@lemmy.world 10 points 11 months ago

I wish him all the worst.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I forgot which one trump ignores Eric or don jr

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago

Just what the world needs, another failson with last name of Trump.

[–] andrewta@lemmy.world 8 points 11 months ago (2 children)

I'm making a prediction. Republicans will take the next presidential election and that president will get a second term.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

With Dems refusing to listen to their constituents and ever pulling the party rightward or doing nothing? How can you see into the future?!

[–] Psythik@lemm.ee 3 points 11 months ago

Well that, and the fact that Republicans rigged and will continue to rig the election in their favor.

[–] NobodyElse@sh.itjust.works 1 points 11 months ago

They’ll run Hillary again against Trump Jr and act all shocked when he wins. Then they’ll blame the voters.

[–] amos@mander.xyz 8 points 11 months ago

Yes... Let the hate between the couch fucker and this idiot flow.

[–] PeripheralGhost@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

Maybe he'll have a stroke
