Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

You raise a good point. What other flags could folks surrounded by "patriots" fly for good fun?

I wouldn't do pizza, but I like absurdity. A high brow option might be a pipe... but no, I believe I might go with a lovely, steamy cup of coffee. Or perhaps an uncropped picture of a your pizza flag waving in the air. Yes, I do believe that would be absurd.

Did you offer me a taco?

Some Lemming has put a United Federation of Planets flag on their pole. They did say that they weren't able to find an outdoor version of the flag so they have to replace it once a year.

I dunno, might create some controversy. What are the toppings?

I love your soup filled bread bowl, but there's no pizza in that picture.

[–] Birch@sh.itjust.works 15 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Dave thinks he is hot shit because he has 67 flags.

I'm sitting just fine at 45.

In Canada a bunch of people brought their flags back because of the bullshit threats.

The issue remains that last time a bunch of Canadians got their flag out was in support of the idiot convoy that crossed Canada in support of ignorance and white supremacy.

I understand and appreciate solidarity against the American government, but I'd like it if we could go back to not waving our colonial flag everywhere.

Good idea. Pizza's not topical - everyone likes pizzas.

Here's the logo of one of my favourite pizzarias for you to use.

Movin' on up the flagpole!

[–] the_grass_trainer@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

A flag with a Winblows logo on it, and underneath it another flag that says "This house is an iOS house," .... But secretly all the PCs have a different version of linux on them.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 10 months ago

I ordered a trans flag last week; should arrive any day now. Going in the window with my Bernie 2020 placard and my UPS union efforts placard. Maybe I'll order a print of Luigi.

[–] ehpolitical@lemmy.ca 4 points 10 months ago

I guess mine would have to be a pineapple pizza.

[–] imvii@lemmy.ca 4 points 10 months ago

Hang the pizza flag upside down just to make the point clear.

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I don't care enough to spend money on such nonsense

[–] frankenswine@lemmy.world -2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

sounds like an aweful hood - is this normal in many parts of the world?

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 1 points 10 months ago
