Its the worlds weakness. Time to break the chain of U.S. tech dependence, but it'll be a slow process.

Not only tech, but the mindset aswell. US is still often seen as the "safe" tech provider contrary to evidence (e.g. snowden's whistleblow) and it would be healthy for the masses to be more sceptical.

EU had the choice to go open source and it seems only the Germans are even trying to do it.

Decades of mal investment while feeding US hegemony.

Despite that open source is still here and can literally be picked and started use for a lot of basic end user applications....
