Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

It is almost like these Republicans are lying sacks of shit.

[–] LMurch@thelemmy.club 15 points 1 year ago

Pretty much...

[–] ShepherdPie@midwest.social 99 points 1 year ago (4 children)

So the guy who spent his formative years hanging out in a pit full of rotting animal corpses is going to teach us all about healthy living?

[–] SeaJ@lemm.ee 67 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Are you implying that brain worms and heroin are not healthy? That worm ate its way to the top.

[–] Krackalot@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 1 year ago

Considering RFK's obvious stupidity, I'm guessing you mean ist started as a suppository.

[–] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Don't be silly.
He also kept roadkill in his fridge.

... and tied to the roof of his car (shark head)

... and in central park (whole black bear)

[–] JeremyHuntQW12@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Relax, he's just a brain damaged heroin addict with barely the ability to speak, how bad could it be ?

hanging out in a pit full of rotting animal corpses

while practicing falconry, on acid.

[–] itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml 50 points 1 year ago (1 children)

My kids will continue to follow a vaccine schedule based on facts and peer-reviewed studies. Not whatever RFK jr read about on Facebook.

[–] massacre@lemmy.world 43 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Up until he has the FDA ban those vaccines in the US. He already said he wanted them to nix Polio vaccine.

[–] Frozengyro@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

True Republican fashion. They got the benefits, time to fuck over anyone that comes after them.

I'm sure this will be a panel of doctors and scientists with excellent credentials, right? Right?

[–] Darkard@lemmy.world 40 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Andrew Wakefield walking into the room like:

[–] Darkard@lemmy.world 66 points 1 year ago

I'm owning my mistake

This might be my favorite meme.

[–] rc__buggy@sh.itjust.works 38 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Basically, ignore the FDA from this point onward and instead self-regulate using bodies like Europe's EMA.

As of right now I no longer trust the FDA, and they were kinda on thin ice before.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Yeah, at what point does all that "they want to kill you with vaccines" bullshit end up being projection like literally everything else? Are we going to have to actually start being skeptical of FDA approved vaccines? Ugh. I hope not. Either way, I'll be paying more attention to what Europe might have to say about pharmaceutical matters going forward...

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 21 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Who's going to conduct the studies they are suggesting? They are firing all the trainees who would have done data collection and who would sign up for a job now that you know you might not only get fired with zero notice, the dismissal letter will state that you have performance issues, so you won't have credibility to get a new job.

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He already knows the answer - just need to have an intern write up the justification.

That's how he thinks science works.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

Exactly... He's talking about the same thing with SSRIs as if we don't already have like billions of pages of research on them already. They want to just ignore that and make up their own reality.

[–] MutilationWave@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Also going after ADHD meds, antipsychotics, and weight loss drugs. I'm terrified. I knew the Nazis came for the disabled early on. I selfishly thought that didn't include me. If I lose access to my medications, disabled will be the word for me for sure.

Look up his idea for Wellness Farms. Get you off your mental health meds while doing literal slave labor in farming. For three to five years.

I'm fairly certain I would k.m.s, unless I had notice they were coming and I would probably go out in a gunfight.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

He can probably spin to some LLM and prompt it with something like: "You are crazy conspiracy theorist that doesn't believe in proven science. Use some fancy-sounding words to convince a nation of dumbasses of the same thing."

[–] downhomechunk@midwest.social 2 points 1 year ago

The loyalists who replace the fired workers, duh!

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Some teenagers in fElonYouth. Maybe Big Balls will offer up some of his time to study the issue.

[–] JeremyHuntQW12@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

That directive said the commission will be made up of cabinet members and other officials from the administration

People like MGT in other words. Not to worry.

China is getting its smallpox vaccine out of storage - "give us Taiwan or the round-eyed devils get it !"

[–] MeekerThanBeaker@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 year ago

Looks like an old catcher's mitt.

[–] Ledivin@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

The Republicans lied?! Nonsense! They have and would never do that! 🙄

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

Glad we got everything up to schedule before these assholes took over.

FUCK THESE ASSHOLES. Even if they just throw doubt on vaccines, that might drive down herd immunity.

[–] suburban_hillbilly@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 year ago

In case any other parents wander in here late, the American Academy of Pediatrics operates a website specifically designed to help parents make informed health care decisions about their children called healthychildren.org, bookmark it as your list of reliable sources for that kind of information continues to grow thinner.

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago

Egads! Do you ever get the feeling of deja Vu? Something like...

Republican-X will fuck issue-Y after promising to not fuck issue-Y.

Maybe the problems aren't the issues... Maybe there's something other common factor that should instead get fucked?

[–] rusticus@lemm.ee 5 points 1 year ago

The thing these idiots don’t understand is the tremendous life threatening risk their actions give those that can’t get vaccinated because they lack a competent immune system.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Who is stupid enough to believe what a politician promised?

[–] sirico@feddit.uk 4 points 1 year ago
[–] thesohoriots@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Of course he’d walk it back and to the left.

[–] kikutwo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

And there it is.
