Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person or their instance. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on. Keep on-topic

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

"Shreds". I hope that one day this language stops....

Trump goes on another diatribe...

[–] XeroxCool@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Seen "shreds" twice this week. Must be the new "slammed"

[–] zoloftt@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I hope one day "Lambasted" is the new word. It won't be true regardless, but it's a step in the right direction

OH MY GOD, I forgot that one. Another solid example of what could be

[–] LadyMeow@lemmy.blahaj.zone 42 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Trump slops more barely coherent diarrhea out on his private social network…

[–] zoloftt@lemmy.world 16 points 5 days ago

He's typing, so it's actually readable... But still, it's hardly news and it's not shredding anyone/anything.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 days ago

In this case, "flings shit at" would be closer to the truth.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 15 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Diatribe also presupposes some kind of intellectual capacity. These are just the demented ramblings of a broken mind. It's time we treated them as such.

[–] zoloftt@lemmy.world 13 points 5 days ago

Good point. "Trump throws a tantrum." Think that sums it.

[–] bender223@lemmy.today 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

trump should go on a diet tribe

[–] zoloftt@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

El-Sayed Hates Jews and Hates Blacks!

... Is he trashing El-Sayed or is he trying to get his supporters to vote blue?

[–] Ooops@feddit.org 9 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

That's the incredible thing when you build up a base of nearly brain-deads swimming in cognitive dissonance: You can say like: "He is very bad, because ", and your idiot followers will just stop at "he's bad!" while only those with a working brain will hear the rest. And some of them might believe the lie and come to the conclusion that everyone is just as bad.

That's the reason both sides bullshit is a working right-wing tactic. For everyone else this is an argument to give up voting while their own followers are filtering out every fact that does not fit their chosen view. "They are just as bad as we are!" only registers to their own voters as "They are bad!". Because the "We are good" part is already a given in their damaged minds and so the other contradicting half of the statement just disappears.

Headline fix:

Rabid animal that impotent Republican congress refuses to put down foams at the mouth in panic during final run up to voting day.

[–] pdxfed@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

"to shreds you say?"

Stop clicking on these headlines and we can get back to news rather than sensationalism eventually. The fact they normal people feel like they have to do the same thing when sharing is so sad.

[–] Lydon_Feen@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago

Trump hates reality, facts, truth, honesty, integrity, competence, intelligence... and brown people.

But boy, oh boy, he looooooves children.

[–] My_IFAKs___gone@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

Goodbye credibility and dignity. I have long missed you, even if you were a veneer.

[–] brianary@piefed.zip 7 points 5 days ago

More tantrumps.

Isn’t that half the maga platform?

(The other half is theft, fraud, and treason)

[–] UpAndAtThem@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

Mildly scratches at candidates while spittle froths from a demented shithole face

[–] MunkyNutts@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

The ass opens its hole and shit pours out, more news at 11!

[–] JustPlainDave@lemmy.zip 5 points 5 days ago

Alternative (and more accurate) headline: Octogenarian Toddler Crashes out on the Internet for the Umpteenth Time.

[–] NathanRanch@lemmy.zip 4 points 5 days ago

Isn't that what he platforms on? This is like kettle complimenting the pot.

Was that followed by him saying how much he loves the Jews and blacks and they love him and he's the best thing that ever happened to them and they should be grateful because no one else gave them anything even though they are sneaky and thuggish?
