I'm confused. What is it that they're mad is being allowed? People on the streets in costumes?

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 8 points 4 hours ago

It's a fake tweet making fun of her appearance.

She's one of the billionaires that support Trump.

In December 2025, she and her husband announced they would be donating over 6 billion dollars to fund investment accounts for at least 25 million children in the United States as part of the Trump Accounts initiative

A week ago she and her husband showed up at the White House to celebrate it and people have been making fun of her appearance ever since.

Skeptics felt the donation was in exchange for a government contract.

Who, or what, is a “Susan Dell?”

[–] glitch1985@lemmy.world 6 points 3 hours ago

Similar to "Dude you're getting a Dell" except it's nightmare fuel.

Is it tasteless? Yes. Why is it allowed? Because we have first amendment rights Susan— and questioning the rights of the masses just wasted any sympathy you were getting. Well, that, and the fact the Trump accounts you helped create are already getting called out for fraud.

[–] bertlewirth@lemy.lol 6 points 5 hours ago

Because we have first amendment rights Susan

had*

Now only the rich and powerful have first amendment rights in the USA.

Ooh! Ooh! I can explain!

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

[–] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 18 points 8 hours ago

All these memes and not a single one of them a call back to the "Dude, you're getting a Dell?!" commercials. smdh

Don't want to become a public joke? Don't try to influence public policy. Easy peasy.

I don't get these fucking leeches, they could live multiple lifetimes and never have to deal with any stress, but instead they try and make all our lives worse and complain when we punch back.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 15 points 8 hours ago

Because they don't get enjoyment out of life. They thrive on "being someone", "being important", for other people to praise them. That's their whole motivation. The money is just a means to that end. They are deeply insecure, and they need constant validation and for people to cheer them on. They love drama, because it artificially creates something that "matters", and they have big opinions on it. They will never stop.

Same. If I had that much money I'd be quietly trying to give the vast majority of it away as silently as possible.

Like don't get me wrong I'd definitely be looking after my friends and family handsomely but shit.... Just spend the rest doing good and shut the fuck up.

25 years from now, this gif will still be popping up from time to time, and it will still make me laugh.

[–] ZeroCool@piefed.ca 41 points 10 hours ago

This one doesn't get shared as much but I think it's just as useful when you encounter whiny MAGAts.

What is this phenomenon where so many people in Trump’s orbit have obvious and shitty plastic surgery. Is it a desire to fit in? Is it the white nationalist/fascist equivalent of a gang tattoo?

[–] BradleyUffner@lemmy.world 56 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (1 children)
[–] Ep1cFac3pa1m@lemmy.world 27 points 12 hours ago (7 children)

So it is like a gang tattoo, or I guess maybe a cattle brand would be a better analogy. Permanently disfigure your body in a hideous fashion to show you’re really “one of us.”

I wonder if there’s some external psychological aspect. Like, is there implicit or explicit pressure to have this done, because once it’s done they know it’ll be very difficult to escape the cult-like environment?

Conservatism is a mental illness. The more conservative someone is, the weirder they appear to the normal people.

Someone online said that people in wealthy circles are only surrounded by other wealthy people who also have plastic surgery... so their definition of normal is, not. You know, the whole "losing touch" thing that happens to 99% of people who get their bag.

Coming into this thread knowing nothing; leaving knowing too much

[–] 58008@lemmy.world 21 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

She stands like she's posing for a fashion photoshoot, but looks around the room like she's an owl that hears the heartbeat of a wee mouse beneath the floorboards.

[–] ScoffingLizard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 7 hours ago

It was creepy af. At one point it looked like she was standing at a 45 degree angle. I never could find that part of the video. The whole group in the Oval Office looked interpersonally disjointed

[–] Danarchy@lemmy.nz 41 points 12 hours ago (3 children)

They should not be ALLOWED to wear COSTUMES! YOU SHOULD BE ON TOP OF THIS MONDOMMY

There are things that should not be walking the streets in broad daylight. New York is not your city, Batman!

A series of very poor choices led her to standing next to Trump in the Oval office looking like that. The first one was marrying Michael Dell.

[–] Frozengyro@lemmy.world 13 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Other than the haircut she looks nice, not sure what happened. Like others said, dysphoria I guess. Too much plastic surgery and someone should have fixed her heavy heavy makeup.

[–] RBWells@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

It's not fair to compare a 20 year old picture to an older version but she sure does look like she would have aged well, and she is in phenomenal shape, distance triathlon athlete.

What I don't understand is why these hyper-rich people can't get good surgery. 2 ladies at my work got eye lifts (partly for medical reasons) and they look perfectly natural. Honestly, I don't understand what is going on.

Her style choices at the white house were also perplexing. You have enough money to hire a stylist to help you find flattering clothes and a makeup artist. The red dress not a good red for her and the makeup that looks like she let an 8 year old do it. None of it makes sense.

For those who don't know:

Edit: Either her account was scrubbed or this is fake. Normally, I don't like to go after people like this, but just like trump, if you're a nazi or hang with nazis, I have no problem making fun of your looks.

This might honestly be the most unsettling thing I've ever looked at. It makes me wanna cry and throw up, but I keep looking at it. What's this from?
