Shut right the fuck up, I’ll have you know that my floordrobe is a valid and perfectly normal clothes sorting and storage method, and not in any way indicative of my spiralling mental health

floordrobe

I love it

I have a chairdrobe and a lampdrobe. t-shirts and trousers go on the chair and button shirts go on the lamp (cheap torchiere lamp)

FWIW, spirals don't only go down. 😎⛅

Well, you can always jump rails. Gamify that mofo! You can win! 🤘🏼

Keep in mind though, that "shooting for the stars" and missing is statistically more likely to send one adrift in the vast abyss between them —rather than "catching the moon on the way down". 😅

Spiraling implies it used to be better anyway

I want one of those dry-cleaning place conveyors to loop into my closet and then into the 1000sqft of my attic so I can keep a shitload of laundry out of sight but retrievable with a button.

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I want this except there's also a built-in washer/dryer/steamer combo built into the loop. Toss dirty laundry into a hole in my closet, press a button, a machine scans the tags and applies the proper washing technique to each individual item of clothing. Clean clothes come out of the other side of the loop, already on the hanger and ready to wear.

[–] VieuxQueb@lemmy.ca 3 points 4 days ago

I use the gauntlet technique so the conveyor system can use it too, if it survived it's a good piece of clothing.

Don’t touch my floordrobe I have everything in piles.

I moved into a tiny home and realized I can totally just wear the same four variations of outfits every week, as long as I remember to use my tiny all-in-one w/d for one of the outfits every night. My friend has the opposite idea: grab a week of outfits from storage every week and add the previous week of outfits to a pile for wash day at the laundromat.

Genuinely, having a tiny home has been great for my adhd problems regarding cleaning. Chores are so bite-sized now that I don't need to fight myself into doing them anymore

Well, it's either that or the chores smother you to death slowly as it takes over your humble sanctuary. 🙇🏼‍♂️

Me? I seem to prefer to let them rally in defiance before crossing the Rubicon to put them in their places properly. 😅

It's kinda wild how adding furniture that takes up space in your room can actually give you more space overall in that room.

Yeah, if you add a desk, you can have a pile on top and under it. If you add a bookshelf, that's a pile for each shelf!

[–] X@piefed.world 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

lol everything I have is my floor. Means floor to ceiling is 3.2 feet but hey I still have all of my stuff and horrific back pain

Have you tried lying on said stuff? Really, stretch out and bask in your things? Might be good for the back, and you can imagine Scrooge McDuck treated himself to similar stuff spa moments. 😁

[–] Eh_I@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

I had a sink under them dishes.

My laundry doesn't ever leave the laundry room. There's a closet bar for hanging clothing and baskets for everything else.

The one bit of work I actually do is hanging shirts up right out of the dryer to avoid wrinkles (I don't own an iron because I'd never remember to use it)

Plus, I hang dry anything that stretches or is synthetic.

Similar, but I hang my shirts in the closet vs drawers for the same reason. 🖖🏼

Big if true

[–] PumaStoleMyBluff@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

I maybe have enough clothes for 3 loads of laundry
