Yeah, they reigned the earth for over 100 million years. I'll stay drug free, thank you.

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 14 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (4 children)

Yeah, they dominated the planet for almost 200 million years.

Fuck coffee.

[–] ladicius@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

Humans dominate the planet for 50.000 years now, and look how shite the biosphere is doing.

We will not make it any longer.

[–] ObtuseDoorFrame@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 month ago

I love how obtuse you are. Absolutely demented, made me smile.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

They still dominate the planet. Which other animal has species on every single continent?

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Rats, humans, lichens, moss, cockroaches, …

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Humans have an outpost, comparable to a space station. There are no rats on antarctica. The other things you mentioned are not animals.

Rats in Antarctica within the last decade, they have an embassy at the human outpost

Cockroach Kingdom: Animalia

Fair on lichen, which are just weird , and moss be plants

Fuck coffee.

Coffee plants feels the same about us. Caffeine is a pesticide from the plant. Same with the spicy molecule in pepers. Humans are so fucked up we crave that shit. Dinosaurs were smart enough not to eat that. Clearly there's no hope for humanity, we won't even make a single million years.

turn out that they get eaten by humans nowadays

[–] wyldrstallyns@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Or, made into fuel, children's toys, and let's not forget the, um, adult items they're essential to (so far). 🧏🏼‍♂️

Fossil fuels are the plants that didn't get eaten up by then yet nonexistent fungi.
Not dinosaurs.

[–] wyldrstallyns@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 month ago

Oh! I was under the impression that petroleum wasn't picky. 😅🙇🏼‍♂️

But also, they turned out fine. One of them is right outside my window eating suet at this very moment.

[–] webp@mander.xyz 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

They never had meth either

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Well, that may work out better

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

So if I don't start drinking coffee I'll get hit by a meteor?

[–] ladicius@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

New Mexico will. Is that what you want?

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

... a little

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 month ago

Actually, I'm curious if the coffee plant had evolved by then. Thinking not.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 3 points 1 month ago

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 1 month ago
