Let's cut off the electricity
Scrap the pipeline, and build the refinery to handle it all ourselves instead of sending our crude to Texas.
Conservatives will on one hand say the energy transition to renewables isn't happening or needed, and at the same time explain how refineries take so long to become profitable we can't afford to build our own.
If it weren't for double standards they wouldn't have any.

I appreciate the sentiment and I’ve felt similarly of late, but we don’t want to “empty the chamber” all at once.
One of the risks of escalation is that the other side may stop fearing what you’re going to do next. This is what happened with Iran: they no longer have any fear of the US whatsoever.
I know Trump is never going to fear anything Canada can do, but ordinary Americans may still worry. We should be trying to turn up the pressure slowly, and make sure that Americans keep turning against Trump rather than starting to see Canadians as the enemy, which is what he wants.

Absolutely. We need to appear to the world (and any sane Americans who remain) as the party in this dispute who is not the aggressor.
We need to react firmly but calmly, and in a reasonable manner.

I don't like it, electricity feels too hostile to real people. I get its a point of leverage, and I get Trump would like to do worse, but I just think that type of activity should be beneath Canada.

However I'll point out the US (DoD was my experience) already has a point system for procurement which would penalised a Canadian company's bid. So saying don't buy Canadian is a but redundant since they already have a police slanted against doing so.

Canada has become the modern Rosie O'Donnell. We are stuck in his head.
American here, I been investing in global stocks heavily for the last year as the long term trend can only favor stability, partnership and reality. I hadn't directly bought Canadian stocks or index before today; bought my first bit of FLCA and plan to add regularly moving forward. I listened to Carney's speech today and, while still a politician, was such fresh air compared to the child molesting dipshits we have down here.
Even Americans are "buying Canadian" at this point, our economy is being run by grifters and scammers and being dollar heavy at this juncture is a complete liability. There will be rough times ahead for both US and Canada but your trajectory is hopefully far different from ours.

They've got 350 million second amendment gun toting patriots over there. Only one of them needs to actually commit, walk their talk, and put one of their own bullets in... there.
Americans are the toughest bunch of cowards on the planet.
They like their guns and will defend their right to have them when idiots murder innocent school children in order for the country to collectively send out thoughts and prayers.
But using those guns as designated by the 2nd amendment just isn’t in their wheel house as it means they’d have to get off the couch.
Only around half of US households own a firearm, so it's a lot less than that. Four times as many Americans don't have guns as the entire population of Canada.
