I have some very specific examples where I can prove MS teams is scraping conversations and selling data. Twice I've had meeting about very unusual specific chemical compounds where I was then solicited by synthesis companies within 48hrs.

But the TV market is highly competitive and they are all basically the same thing (sorry nerds). You would think a truly disconnected TV would be a sales feature at this point. Unless the TV business is not actually about selling you a TV.

Because my company forces us to use it, and because I know they're both watching every conversation and believe it's kept only within the company, I feel no compunction to keep company secrets off of there.

There's a bunch of products that clearly aren't selling to consumers anymore. Cars were the first one I noticed, about 15-20 years ago. When I was growing up, cars came in an absolute rainbow of colors. Ever since the early '00s, all the colors have disappeared, except corpo friendly colors like white, grey, gold, silver, tan, black, and the occasional blue or red. Almost no green, orange, or yellow cars even exist anymore. The car manufacturers don't care about us consumers buying a single car. They'd rather sell a fleet at a loss of profit per unit, but so many units they don't care.
The same thing is happening to electronics, TV's, and to a certain extent, housing. If you want a "dumb TV," search for a "commercial display panel." You'll pay like 3 times more, but those don't have the intrusive data collection crap.
You can also buy computer monitors up to about 32" to use as a TV. Above 32" all the OLED displays seem to be curved or ultra wide.
Also projectors don't tend to have smart features.

Well... No. And opamp output is fully different than an opamp input. They aren't reversible.
The electronics would have to be specially designed to be a transceiver instead of just a speaker output (I mean, they definitely can do it, it just is more work and more cost)

Smart TV's are terrifying. I'm still rocking an old 2008 flat screen that can't handle 1080p..
i only got rid of my 20in CRT television about two-and-a-half years ago.
I have a "smart" TV. It wouldn't let me get past setup until I put it on wifi, so I spun up a hotspot, then immediately killed it and just plugged in a micro PC running Linux to the HDMI port.
Occasionally, I'll sit on the remote and a pop up happens saying I'll need to connect to the Internet for to work, but that's about it.
2011 TV here, it thankfully is 1080p capable, and I'm clinging onto it for dear life. If anything in it fails, I'll definitely be attempting a repair.
I picked up a second hand circa 2011 nearly smart TV. It's sony 65" 1080x1920 plenty of inputs. Was a high end device of it's day.
Cost me $100.
Unfortunately we will run out of old devices like this at some point.

I can confirm, having the same problem with summit+piefed account. Link only works with summit+lemmy . Piefed support in summit is unfortunately experimental still I think. Probably the maintainers will fix it though if you report it. They are pretty active from my experience Really like the app.
I use Friendica, in that case let me edit my post to make the links explicit
From Piefed, it looks like the link is visually shortened, but you should be able to tap or click it to open the full link. You can also right-click and copy the link, if you want to inspect it. That's unfortunately a quirk on Piefed's side.

I have a newish TCL that runs android's TV OS and I've never connected it to a network and it never has bothered me again about connecting. I am sure it's recording our convos but it isn't uploading them at least.
I did scramble a few settings like a BS static IP, a BS DNS, gateway, etc.
