I never bought the whole bullshit line of “The device could technically be recording you, but it isn’t. Trust us.” Good on GamersNexus for doing the legwork to prove it isn’t true.
Any device with a speaker can be retasked to use it as a microphone.
Well... No. And opamp output is fully different than an opamp input. They aren't reversible.
The electronics would have to be specially designed to be a transceiver instead of just a speaker output (I mean, they definitely can do it, it just is more work and more cost)
It would be 10x cheaper just to put a microphone in it.
Sort of. Most of them would need a change in hardware to support it.
