...are they not? I thought it was just a fancy word for bean.

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 7 points 5 days ago

I looked it up and beans, lentils, peas, and peanuts are subcategories of legumes.

So all beans are legumes, but not all legumes are beans.

[–] sudoMakeUser@sh.itjust.works 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Makes sense, Banana has been trademarked by Dole since 1977

[–] CaptPretentious@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

They can't legally call it a "Banana" if it's less than 50% banana...

(joking. inspired by "cheese product" and "frozen desserts")

Since some point around 2020 markets are carrying "chocolate flavored candies" and "mixture for preparation of coffee flavored beverages" here in Brazil.

Wait what store is that, I remember almost that exact label about 15 years ago except it had a £ getting cut

[–] radeance@piefed.ca 1 points 4 days ago

I think this is NoFrills, a Canadian grocery store. Also, it has the large per-lb and small per-kg price shenanigans we have.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 2 points 5 days ago
