Nah, I wouldn't come between a fellow pickle lover and their treasure.

You can have mine if it was served to me on any hot food item. Cold pickle wedge on the side, yum. Hot pickle slice on a burger, not for me.

I will take on all pickles. Dill pickes, sweet pickles, sliced pickles, baby pickles, hot pickles, cold pickles, pickled olives, pickled hering, indian hot pickled mango pickles, relishes, gardiniera, tzatziki, pickle rick, the satanic dog named pickles from that weird cartoon, your mom's favourite cucumber...

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm still curious why someone would name a sweet pickle bread and butter. Neither bread nor butter tastes anything like whatever they did to those poor cucumbers

[–] Zier@fedia.io 7 points 1 week ago

Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pickled_cucumber#Bread-and-butter They filed for the trademark "Fanning's Bread and Butter Pickles" in 1923 (though the recipe and similar recipes are probably much older).[8] The story to the name is that the Fannings survived rough years by making the pickles with their surplus of undersized cucumbers and bartering them with their grocer for staples such as bread and butter.[9] Their taste is often much sweeter than other types of pickle, due to the sweeter brine they are marinated in, but they differ from sweet pickles in that they are spiced with cilantro and other spices.

How do you feel about deep fried pickles?

I'll tell you how I feel they're either too hot or soggy so fuck that shit.

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

There's a pickleball place called Chicken and Pickle, I was told they have the BEST fried pickles ever. I said, "that's like bragging that you took the best dump ever into your shoes and then wore them."

Anyway, people convinced me they were worth trying. I finally caved, and I was surprised! The breading was insanely crispy and impressively seasoned, the pickle slices weren't too thick, so they didn't get too hot. And when you ate the whole fried pickle chip, it tasted like someone stuck a dank cum-sock in ranch flavored ranch, and then let the whole thing sit out until it turned sour.

People are entitled to their opinions, but fried pickles seem like they're just objectively bad. Maybe someone can explain why they like fried pickles, but I just don't get it.

Fuck you for getting me in the first half.

Thanks for the chuckle!

Never tried one... I'll prob avoid them if I can.

That said, dehydrated and lightly salted okra I love.

Fried squishy okra... I'll usually pass every time.

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Just a heads up, I'll eat Lifeinmultiplechoice's fried pickles

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There's going to be a moment of confusion as some guy grins and unzips his pants.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 6 points 1 week ago

Wait, what??? [zips pants back up]

My fiancé always makes me call her (270-558-1710) whenever I get pickles at a restaurant to ask her if she wants me to keep them for her or not, lol.

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Did you just include her phone number?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 week ago

In case anyone wants to get her pickles, I guess? 🤷🏻

[–] Abyssian@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, his fiance eats everyone's pickle.

[–] Caketaco@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago

I also choose this guy’s dead wife! 😊

[–] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 week ago

For those curious the number is either for a party city in Cincinnati or something called Beverly Bot

[–] Badabinski@kbin.earth 3 points 1 week ago

I'm onto you and your tricks with that phone number and I approve

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Well that phone number was a nice little rabbit hole

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You may have all the sweet-pickles you want. The sour/dill pickles are mine tho

[–] BenLeMan@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

May I interest you in these tomatoes I found in my salad?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Don't mind if I do! Monch

[–] Kaiserschmarrn@feddit.org 6 points 1 week ago

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You can have my pickle. I don’t want it.

Thanks! monch cronch

[–] mastertigurius@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Mmm, fish & chips with a cheeky pickle on the side. Some curry sauce, bit of malt vinegar and salt on the chips. Oh, now you're making me hungry.

[–] Paradachshund@lemmy.today 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I feel like these microblog screen caps on a cute background are the 2026 equivalent of a framed quote cross stitch.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yeah, I usually crop the background out myself, but apparently forgot this time

[–] Paradachshund@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago

Oh it's not a criticism, sorry of it came out that way! I just think it's interesting.

[–] meme_historian@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Mam I think that's called sexual assault

Not if you're literally talking about pickled cucumbers. The fruit in the same family as pumpkins that's green, consists primarily of water, and is culinarily considered a vegetable by most.

Which I am.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 week ago

Fascinating aside: it's spelled "ma'am"

[–] Ydna@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I gobble it quick enough for the two of us m'lady

M'viking (he/him), please 😛

[–] Jarix@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I have a phrase I have used many times for things I dont like such as this.

You may have my share of the world's sweet pickles

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What is your pickle tolerance? Is it limited by order things? A ratio of other foods? Or are you insatiable? Also is this a... new thing or have you always loved pickles?

are you insatiable

Pretty much, yeah.

Also is this a... new thing or have you always loved pickles?

As long as I can remember 🤷🏻

[–] smuuthbrane@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

Same, but for fruitcakes.

[–] theLaLiLuLeLol@kbin.earth 2 points 1 week ago

i will take that under advisement
