Well, i guess this is why i had to avail of the 400gb. The family sharing really caused a huge spike in storage we already maxed our 200gb

Enshittification! We said free storage, now you have to pay for it. Why? Because fuck you, that's why. Also, we need money to support fascism.
As if they aren't already selling our data and making money hand over fist.
Line must go up and if little is good, more must be better.
It's still free though?
Reason n+1 to switch to a custom OS.
Just backed everything up in extra places to do just that
Oooh, Graphene, Lineage, Postmarket? Sailfish, Volla?
Graphene. Not my first rodeo with it but I had to get a few phone and got lazy and all of a sudden it's 2 years later 🤣
Nice! Switched to GrapheneOS a few months ago and apparently the backup tool also backups apks alongside data. So I think its literally 10 times cooler than Google's solution. But never restored it so far.
I was just reading that their backup left a lot to be desired but I have no idea how recent those articles were lol.
I'd really like to but my bootloader is blocked and there is not a lot of roms supported by my phone
This is mostly a nothing burger. MOST of the data intensive stuff is already backed up if you have it on. According to the email I got this will increase my usage by .1GB (100mb). I'm honestly surprised they were not counting all settings already. I'm, overall not happy with them in general these days but this is a pretty minor change.
Your current storage status: Your estimated increase in Android device backup will be 0.1 GB after this change.

Hey guys, as a service I've been backing up everything you say, feeding an AI and filling my hard drive with all the garbage the AI says in your name within my system.... which is a lot!
Anyway, you're running out of space. Pay me or I'll have to delete things.
whats a reliablebackup nowadays? Back in 2012 when i messed around with rom hack, there was the titanium backup. Im on Graphene btw
Graphene's own built in backup is what I'm using, I have it set to backup to my NextCloud everyday. That being said, I have not tried to restore from it yet, so if you use it, be better than me and actually test the restore process.
