I want to make fun of this person having a phone-in-drain problem, but I’ve lived long enough to witness the universe dole out instant karma to people teasing others.

A friend’s mother-in-law told her a story about watching lots of small children and not being able to herd them all to a washroom fast enough, which led to her shitting her pants. My friend made fun of her mother in law, incredulously wondering what kind of adult ever poops their pants. That very night she shit her bed.

You see, that's why OP always carries a second phone: To photograph the first one not falling into the gutter

Do you not have friends to take fun photos for you?

No one has friends IRL anymore - they’re all virtual. Soon they’ll all be AI. That’s when humanity ends. Coming soon.

It doesn't usually go down the grate, it goes down the big hole

I read that in a slow writing voice and heard pencil scratches

How often are you dropping your phone into a street drain?

[–] Danquebec@sh.itjust.works 2 points 13 hours ago

It actually happened to me once.

[–] 69420@lemmy.world 105 points 1 day ago

It also doesn't fit in your pocket. How convenient.

Clip to a carabiner on your belt loop

TBF, maybe they wear women's pants. A pack of gum wouldn't fit in those pockets.

[–] Bad_Ideas_In_Bulk@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

TBF, anyone can wear any gender of pants. The pocket situation persists because it's tolerated. If you made pants like that for men, they'd return them.

Demand better.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

My hips are too wide to comfortably fit in men's pants without using the hell out of a belt

TBF, anyone can wear any gender of pants.

Spoken like someone that doesn't have an aggressive hip-to-waist ratio.

Anyways, I wear scrubs. They're the cargo pants of the professional world. My 6" ereader fits in one of the pockets. Highly recommend.

Says you, I mostly use my jacket pockets for my phone. My jacket pockets are large and deep so I could probably shove like 3 of these things into one pocket, my jacket is a surplus Czech Military field jacket.

Put a hook on your belt
